Why I’m genuinely angry about our Prime Minister calling a child sexual abuse advocate “difficult”. 🙃
Let’s call this what it is.
When someone speaks about abuse, power, and systems that fail - they are not “difficult”. They are disruptive to silence.
For many survivors of CSA, speaking up already comes with fear, shame, and risk. Watching that courage be reduced to a personality flaw by someone in power? That hits deep.
It also hits deeper for many neurodivergent people - who have spent a lifetime being labelled “too much”, “too blunt”, or “difficult” simply for communicating differently or refusing to conform.
This isn’t just a throwaway comment.
It reflects how easily advocacy is undermined when it becomes inconvenient.
Respectfully - we can, and should, expect better from leadership and deserves better. We need more difficult people in our world right now.
Sending support to anyone this stirred something up for 🖤
