Big changes are here for aged care assessments 👇

My Aged Care has introduced a new, simplified assessment process, replacing the old ACAT system with a Single Assessment System.

What does this mean?

✅ One streamlined assessment pathway
✅ More consistent assessments nationwide
✅ Faster access to the right level of care
✅ Better focus on individual needs and goals

The aim is to make it easier for older Australians to access the support they need — whether that’s help at home, respite, or residential care.

The issue is the new assessment system is an algorium that chooses what level of care that Mum and Dad receive. I've developed a short youtube video below that outlines the details in more depth.

✨ “I’m Still Maria” – Magical High Tea 2025 ✨

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attarnding the The Dementia Support Network of WA’s annual Magical High Tea, themed “I’m Still Maria.” 💜

It was such a beautiful afternoon shared with friends and colleagues — filled with connection, compassion, and courage. We heard some incredibly moving stories from families on their dementia journey — a powerful reminder of the strength and love that shine through even the toughest moments.

NCCC explained!

From 1st November 2025, the Australian Government are abolishing the “means tested care fee”.

A new “Non-Clinical Care Contribution” will cover personal support like bathing, mobility help and lifestyle activities.

You only pay if your income and assets are high enough.
