The School of Esoteric Sciences

The School of Esoteric Sciences The School of Esoteric Sciences is a spiritual community committed to awakening wisdom through ethic We offer face to face teachings and meditation training.

The School of Esoteric Sciences is a spiritual community committed to awakening wisdom through ethical living, meditation, ritual, study and service. We seek to unveil the hidden or esoteric truths behind all religions, spiritual traditions and world views, and at the same time elucidate and challenge the distortions therein. Our teachings attempt to go beyond dogmatism and superstition, integrating spiritual logic, scientific method, and meditative insight to perceive the nature of Love and universal Truth. Utilising the principle of synthesis, we fuse ancient wisdom with the world’s best knowledge in philosophy, creative arts, politics, cosmology and modern science, to create an integrated understanding of the inner and outer universe. This approach assists people to sift through and rise above the growing deluge of information, to recognise the essential unity amidst diversity, and find sustenance in our modern world. We are dedicated to serving humanity with integrity, emphasising the union of inner transformation and outer service. Meditation is a means to awaken higher spiritual perceptions and contact the Hierarchy (Lineage) of Enlightened Beings. Developing the meditation mind is a liberative process which assists individuals to find their own path. We tailor meditation practices to individual need, according to each person’s nature and intention. The practical application of meditation, guided by love, is the foundation of all teachings and manifests as personal and planetary healing. Ritual manifests a rhythm of spiritual life on the physical plane. It is consistently focused intention which must be empowered by the heart in service to all. We use ritual practices to build protected sacred spaces, conducive of meditative quiescence, anchoring energies from higher subtle realms. Study The development of the mind balances the heart’s wisdom with spiritual discrimination. Study and reading form the ocean of knowledge from which the reflective wisdom can shine forth. We strongly encourage an esoteric study of various spiritual traditions, religions, philosophies, social movements and history. This provides a basis for understanding both one’s experiences in meditation and one’s experiences in the world. Service We encourage students to wisely participate in any field of service they can, especially that which is group oriented. Selfless service is the path to develop the will of universal Love and compassion. This contributes towards future fields of unified service to humanity. The School of Esoteric Sciences is an active spiritual organisation, based in Australia. We are dedicated to uplifting our visitors, and strive to support them to gain more clarity, stillness and purpose in their lives. We publish books, pamphlets, audio presentations, and a website. We have an esoteric library with an extensive range of subjects to facilitate in-depth research and further studies. We encourage conscious, sustainable, group co-habitation with an emphasis on a wise use of resources. Our community

At The School of Esoteric Sciences our teachings are deeply integrated into our daily lives. Being part of a spiritual organisation offers the wisdom and support needed to awaken to the path of Love. Our students are trained in the Esoteric Sciences and Buddhism, which include:

Mastery of the body, emotions and mind, through challenging ones habits, desires and illusions. The study of esoteric healing, including an understanding of chakras, karma, rebirth and the nature of subtle energies. The study of esoteric astrology and cosmology. The development of higher logic and the intuition. The use of practical meditative methods to transmute inner and outer negative forces. The manifestation of wisdom and compassion through the complete union of Heart and Mind. The awakening to enlightenment consciousness through the removal of all obscurations. The Future Vision

We envision that a group of beings thus empowered, could actively raise the consciousness of humanity and work to stimulate progressive changes in the fabric of civilisation. By teaching and promoting ethical laws and systems, based on the application of Love and Wisdom, we aim to liberate people from circumstances of oppression and injustice. We believe this is the manifestation of enlightenment consciousness in global service.

Chakras

I have explained the eight petals in terms of the attributes of the human and deva kingdoms, but this is not quite correct. It is best to think in terms of the evolution of human consciousness, whereby the three guṇas: sattva, rajas and tamas, dynamic, mobile and sluggish energies, must be taken into account. When multiplied by the four petals of the Base of Spine centre, or the four directions shown in figure 22, then we have the twelve petals of the Heart centre, and the basic number whereby the entire maṇḍala of the chakra system is constructed. It presents a basis as to why the Heart is life, not just for the human form, but for the entire evolutionary progression. From this can be derived why traditionally there are twelve months to a year and twelve signs of the zodiac. The Sanskrit word chakra in its simplest connotation means wheel, the wheel of motion, of the Law. Chakras are vortices of energy and depending upon the qualities of the particular chakras that are activated they connote the different qualities of a manifest human or Logos. The chakras in the bodies of planetary and solar Logoi have astrological and cosmological inferences. Each Logos subjectively manifests in the form of one or other of the chakras and consequently embodies the functions ascribed to that particular centre within the Body of a far greater Logos.

The unfoldment of the lotus concerns the summation of the motion associated with the process of evolution. It represents an expansion in the four, six, eight, or twelve directions in space. (If the zenith and nadir and/or the intermediate positions are taken.) The petals of all the other chakras are really compounded from the four of the Base of Spine centre, multiplied by three, to take into account the three guṇas. Even the Solar Plexus centre with ten major petals, are drawn from the maṇḍala of twelve petals with two petals removed, or the Sacral centre, with six main petals, where six is but half of the maṇḍala of twelve petals. In the centre of all major chakras exist 96 smaller petals. The attributes of the Elements which the chakras convey is determined by the number of major petals the chakra possesses. Accordingly the seven major chakras are also categorised as five, where the Head lotus and the Ājñā centre, being overlapped, count as one. Similarly the Sacral and the Base of Spine centres have one petal from each overlapped, and are accordingly counted as a unit.

Each of the quadrants is really dual, because in terms of human evolution there is a left and right hand way to travel. The left refers to that pertaining to materialistic incentive, with a prime focus downwards and outwards attachment to saṃsāra and the pleasures of the senses. The right hand way refers to the process of gaining wisdom, where one detaches from saṃsāra and aspires upwards towards liberation via the eastern direction of the Heart. As they do not have the type of free will associated with humanity, the feminine deva kingdom travel only in one direction, the right hand path of evolutionary progression, but can be manipulated by forceful minds into left hand constructs. (Also certain of their order embody the substance of human thoughts and desires.) In effect, what constitutes the ‘left hand’ for them is the embodiment of those deva forces productive of the process of dying, of disintegration and death of all forms, minute or cosmological. All forms must die to be reborn.

The focus of the figure is in the present, hence two further factors can be added, namely, the moving time line of the past moving to the future. This diagram depicts in a simplified form how consciousness evolves, and represents the esoteric foundation for the construction of a generalised maṇḍala.43 The lotus fills the boundaries of the circumscribed Thought- Form of the Logos. Each one of the petals conveys saṃskāras conditioned by a different Element. North for the Fiery, west for the Watery, south for the Earthy, and east for the Airy Element.44 What is presented here concerns the source of where the Buddhists and Hindus derive their ‘four continents’, the central basis of their cosmological system, with Mount Meru in the centre of the maṇḍala. Also the four Mahārājas, the guardians of the four corners of the universe in the Hindu pantheon, and their analogies in all the various mythologies, such as the four winds, or powers (forces), or the four seasons.

There are two orientations to this ‘blossom’ (or sw****ka), what is depicted is technically the orientation for the feminine principle, that for the deva evolution. The masculine principle in Nature, the human kingdom, is oriented in the cardinal position (north, east, south and west). This makes eight spokes to this wheel, or petals to a lotus, which from another perspective is symbolised by the prongs of a vajra. There is a central coordinating prong of integrating substance (expressing the dharmadhātu Wisdom of Vairocana) enclosed within the unifying factor of the sphere of expansive inclusiveness (representing the function of the Ādi Buddha). The eight orientations plus the above two factors produce the number ten of perfection.

Having elaborated somewhat the concept of the existence of a primal creative Logos and the nature of its expression in relation to a human thought sequence, I can now focus upon what sustains consciousness through its cycles of expression. This involves the spiral nature of the motion of consciousness through space and concerns the mysteries of how chakras come to be. Chakras are the penultimate mystery because everything that is and is not can be viewed in terms of them and of their motion. When the motion of the time-space continuum is projected in the four directions of space, according to the way of movement of a sw****ka, then a ‘lotus blossom’ is formed, as indicated in the following figure.

The enlightenment process and causation

Continuing from the previous week - 9

Drastic action is needed in this epoch of concretised mental-emotions of humanity, if the cycle of Love-Wisdom is to become prevalent. The Plan calls for a world-wide externalisation of a similar process that happens within the Initiate’s consciousness as he/she awakens to enlightened perception. Similar causative functions that were used to awaken the nature of the Mind within must be also utilised to awaken the minds of the intelligentsia. Such subjective experience must now project itself as observable and even miraculous happenings on the world stage. Many will be swept by waves of reactionary sensationalism and bigotry, but the lower mind structure (the separative ‘I’) of humanity will inevitably be transformed in a way never before possible on such a wide scale.

The march of time will make this possible. Decades, centuries and millennia go into Hierarchical planning in accord with the way of manifestation of the law of cycles. Much that was previously hidden may now be revealed in such a way that humanity can quickly progress towards the Light and learn the ways of the higher Creativity. The Laws of causation necessitate such development, if the primal Logoic atoms that are the Sambhogakāya Flowers of humanity can be stimulated to the vibrancy of the next level of expression ahead of them. The ways of Love must begin to dominate world affairs, for this Love is but Mind actively beating out more embracive cycles of endeavour, as fostered by the Lords of Life.

The enlightenment process and causation

Continuing from the previous week - 8

Fully enlightened teachers will be found by those that are awakening the powers of the Heart via the intelligent application of the task at hand, through consecrating their lives to serve. Being liberated Souls the enlightened ones work directly through people’s Sambhogakāya Flowers, which are also prime divinely guided causative agents upon our earth. These Souls possess no sense of separateness.

People thus come to know the Master of Wisdom via contact with their own higher selves. Often messengers are sent, the direct disciples of an enlightened one, and how well they are received by the aspirant indicates the readiness of the aspirant for the way of approach to the spheres of causation. There is consequently no need to actively seek for the Master or guru in the world by means of desire or aspiration, for the Master will appear only when the karmic underlay for right action has been accomplished.

The disciple will then already be well established as a prime causative agent in the field of service. The time for changes in the world of religious opinion is nigh, through the appearance of the Avatar, as explained in The Constitution of Shambhala. This Avatar will work to cultivate the causative seeds sown previously by his predecessors such as the Buddha and Jesus, according to the Plan. He reaps the gains of the past, which are then moulded into the form that will be causative of the new World Religion. He will be able to do this because he is the embodied externalised power of the ātmic plane, (the third level of the dharmakāya) which is the recipient of the Mind of the planetary Logos.

The enlightenment process and causation

Continuing from the previous week - 7

Logoi play a similar part in their greater schema. Therein energies from other stars, entire constellations of stars, and from the signs of the zodiac, must be conveyed and integrated into their Bodies of manifestation so that the various streams of Lives therein will benefit. Such energies must be directed during the appropriate cycles in accordance to what is needed to vitalise those they envision within the ring-pass-not they embody.

Inclusiveness, not separateness is the way forward. The great heresy of separateness is one of the major causative factors promulgated by the forces of evil. It produces much of the evil seen in human societies. The effect of this (and its base of massed selfishness) is obvious to all who are learning to rightly vision. The keynote of all that comes from the mouth or pen of a Master of Wisdom is always inclusiveness stemming from far sighted Vision.

Such teachings can always be noted by their meaningful quality, forthrightness of imagery and dynamism of presented truths. They work to feed the Heart that is the Mind, to awaken the intuition, rather than feeling-perceptions or devotional tendencies, though these qualities may also be inadvertently kindled in the aspiring ones.

The enlightenment process and causation

Continuing from the previous week - 6

Intensity of feeling (mistaken as love) however, is what the world’s disciples still mostly express. Generally they will ardently follow any teaching disguised as ‘Words from God’, conventional renderings of sūtras and religious texts, that intensify devotion or aspiration. Intensity of feeling, even ecstatic vision, has a selfish connotation because it is intrinsically related to, or focussed upon, the personal ‘I’. This helps build the great prison house of personality (the desiremind) and of separative attitudes—such as promoting an exclusive religious doctrine. The divinity within one, the causative function, is then relegated to a menial and limiting task, the building of the concepts of mind affecting the most material and limiting of all bodies of manifestation (the material world), or to produce glamoured, astral images containing the ‘waters from which it’, the often zealous aspirational mind ‘drinks’.

Such attitudes intensify the conditionings surrounding and containing the ‘speck’ of unreality that is the human personality, (the ‘atomic unity’ within a solar sphere) whereas Initiates are concerned with directing the causative streams of entire groupings of such ‘specks’ into the realms of reality. This necessitates the application of methods that will allow one to defocus the Eye (the directive agent) away from the ‘I’, so that it can become more inclusive, to view the entire panorama of which the ‘I’ is but a minute part. Expansive inclusive perception is the way of developing a Logoic Vision.

The enlightenment process and causation

Continuing from the previous week - 5

The course of events in the material world, and the other kingdoms in Nature are also effected in a similar manner by members of the upper echelons of the angelic hosts, the deva equivalents of Adepts and Masters. All work via the agency of greater and lesser deva units via the laws of sound, ceremonial order and colour. Everyone must walk every step of the path to enlightenment through the complete development of their own capabilities and right discrimination. By mastering all of life’s qualities one becomes enlightened, thus a prime causative agent.

This is the first major step after Individualisation into the human from the animal kingdom and subsequent development of intelligence. Eventually such a one becomes a Logoic Creative Will. Guidance may be given by the enlightened to all seekers, but such is not a dictum or command, for each task that a disciple takes is selfinitiated. It is the result of meditation upon the cause of a particular aspect of suffering, and upon how best to serve. It is not imposed from above, though impressions may certainly come thusly. Siddhis are developed through the generation of the compassionate will. Siddhis betoken of a causative potency unknown to the unenlightened.

The enlightenment process and causation

Continuing from the previous week - 4

Initiates of the fifth degree (Masters of Wisdom) have the ability to contact the Plan as it exists in the dharmakāya and direct it to the material realms as primal Causative energy. Such energy emanates from the ātmic plane and must be ‘toned down’ and directed in such a way that it can be utilised by intuitive, inventive and inspired thinkers. They can use those ideas as ideals to accomplish their self-initiated tasks in any of the departments of life. Thereby much is effected that happens in the material world. The ātmic plane, from which these Masters of Wisdom work, is the plane of causative karma, from which emanates world, group, and national karma. It is the plane upon which the impact of the Fiery dharmakāyic substance from the Dhyāni Buddhas (depicted here as causative karma) finds its objective externalisation in our solar system.

Ātma is but the reflex of the energies manifesting from the Logoic Mind (the cosmic mental plane). Masters are therefore but emanations or aspects of the Mind of a Creative Logos. The Masters rightly wield and direct this causative karma so that all involved in saṃsāra will progress according to the Shambhalic Plan. They are the recipients of the greater Will, thus are the custodians of the Plan that is the Purpose during any evolutionary epoch. This Plan is then particularised into the minutiae needed for the appropriate evolution of the streams of consciousness in the world via the maṇḍalas representing the Ray Ashrams of each Master. Masters are thus agents that allow a Logos to focus His/Her Purpose to produce necessary effects in saṃsāra. Masters consequently are agents of directed Purpose, units of the Logoic Will. Those who aspire toward the manifestation of new age ideals, or improving any aspect of life on the planet, will be directly energised from such sources.
