Was so worth travelling up to see the crew at .and.antler again today for a delicious Strawberry & White Chocolate Matcha Frappe along with their yummy 😋 Apple Crumble Cheesecake Dessert in a can! Sorry - no pics - devoured - we will be back next month to try what's on the menu!

Last year I made a change and joined an org that aligns completely with my values and ethics.

The OOHC sector continues to remove children at an alarming rate - more and more the statistics are showing that the current model used isn’t working.

One of the earliest conversation I had with PIC I said, the system is broken! And the reply? No, the system works exactly as it’s supposed to.

This had me sitting back in my chair silently contemplating everything I’d ever thought about OOHC, the system and most importantly - my part in it.

When I was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to join the team and become a coordinator for the Northern area I knew I was stepping into a space that was like no other that I’d ever been a part of before.

Here is an ABC Story that was done last year that encapsulates the story of PIC, the model that PIC is using and the 30 year history that originated in Germany. You will meet one of our Professional Carers - the legend Brett Peter and Leroy and hear about the success that can be achieved when one person believes in another.

Australian kids in out-of-home-care usually go through multiple placements and rarely get therapeutic support to deal with trauma. A new model of care that pays mental health experts to become full-time foster parents aims to change that.

Day 5 - Testimonials! The most effective way for me as a therapist to learn and grow is too hear from the people I’m working with. They provide me with the goal to be better and do better. Final session done at the Early Years Wellbeing space yesterday. After the floods owner Lisa Cheal provided a space for Shining Light to continue to do the work we do with clients and it’s been a beautiful space to work in.

Lots of wonderful healing moments, tears and breakthroughs happened there!

With some new things happening in that space it was time for us to move on and I’m excited to announce that Shining Light Hypnotherapy, from 18th February, will be working out of Grounded in Growth in Lismore.

I will continue to provide Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy for my clients with the same passion and love for what I do every single day!

But for now I’m on holidays for the next few weeks and I look forward to hearing from you in February 💛

So until then, remember to keep Shining the Light Inside ☀️

My new blog

As a woman in the world I have taken on many roles - the child, the mother, the funny girl and the professional. However, the most destructive to my true essence has been to take on the role of the non-woman.

Time ⏰

Sometimes we can think we have all the time in the world to start on those goals we have.

Other times we don’t even start because we feel like we’ve run out of time.

Our minds are such powerful entities that if we have a thought- it can manifest into a behaviour or belief in ourselves that isn’t always an accurate depiction of who we are.

The beauty of clinical hypnosis is that we get to bypass the thinking 💭 mind and go straight to the subconscious mind.

In doing so we can deliver messages and tools that are factual and above all else practical.

The people that come to see me report changes in how they are feeling and behaving from the very first session.

So what’s holding you back from taking that first step?

Wellbeing 🌱

Sometimes it can feel like it’s just too hard to start on out healing journeys. That’s there’s too much to change, too much to heal and a belief that we are STUCK with living this way forever.

Ive come to understand how important it is to put in small simple actions in order to make lasting change.

The beauty of the healing journey is that it is just that, a journey.

Every step is important and although it may seem like a huge mountain to climb you don’t have to do it alone and more importantly, you don’t have to do it all at once!

What will you do today towards improving your wellbeing and loving the life you deserve?

What do you say to yourself to motivate you?

Is it something motivational?

Or maybe a kick ass powerful statement?

Or even something loving and caring?

It’s really important how we talk to ourselves and if you’re anything like me it hasn’t always been kind.

So, on days when I need a little boost I remind myself of where I’ve been and how far I’ve come on my journey.

I act with loving kindness towards myself and I teach others to do the same.

Clinical Hypnotherapy can create a gateway to your subconscious mind and talk directly to the changes you’d like to make!
