🌏 OUR MISSION:
Sustainable Health Empowerment (SHE) harnesses the power of education, local resources, and cross-cultural collaboration to foster equitable healthcare in underserved communities around the world.

👫 THOSE WE SERVE:
SHE’s mission is to address the needs of underserved populations throughout the world. Our initial efforts have been centered in Cambodia (Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Sihanoukville, and Battambang, and Phnom Penh), with specific locations ranging from orphanages to factories, hotels, and temples. Future plans include Greece and Laos.

👷🏽 WHO WE ARE:
SHE is a diverse and global collective of medical and pre-med students, healthcare professionals, local organizations, leaders, social activists, and more. Our core team is based in the United States, but we have local liaisons, hosts, and volunteers all over the world. These on-site collaborators are essential to SHE’s vision, as we strive to serve each area with utmost cultural competency.

🌡WHAT WE DO:
Our main areas of on-site focus are:
- educational workshops
- medical treatment (dental, medical, vision)
- health fairs
- prosthetics
- disability referrals.
- Throughout the year, we develop educational materials, conduct patient follow-ups, and continue to supply valuable medical equipment.

We are pleased to share this 3rd in a series of Health Equity Fairs as part of two grants (2023-2024) from the City of Long Beach, and the Long Beach Department of Health. It has been a labor of love putting it together, but we are fortunate to also have the tremendous support of District1 Councilwoman Mary Zendejas, and the Museum of Latin American Arts (MOLAA), in addition to the volunteers who give tirelessly to be of service, and straight from the heart! It is a community health fair and we are recruiting more interpreters/translators. Please share and see you there!

Health Equity Community Projects are vital. We are excited for the 3rd Health Fair in our series, made possible by our second awarded grant from the City of Long Beach. It is free, fun, interactive and you will be happy you attended. For all ages, music and cultural activities provided, at the prestigious, vibrant Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA). We are ready for you.

Learn CPR, listen in to live short presentations, get your feet checked by our podiatrists, learn how to detect breast cancer, do yoga, speak with our triage doctors, learn about Medicare applications, attend many booths!
From Long Beach, Signal Hill, Grenada, Los Angeles, Riverside, Pomona, Orange County and Oakland! We welcome our approximately 100 Volunteers. We are prepared, passionate, and professional in our approach and serving people locally and globally. 🌺

Yesterday's Meetup planning for our next Health Fair. Very exciting to work with University-based, Hospital based medical workers and students, as well as community professionals. We have about 80 volunteers all ready to give their best! See you there!
