Merry Christmas from our Grow With Me OT family, to yours 🎅🏻

Our team were able to celebrate the end of a big year with a wonderful lunch by the ocean at (minus a couple who unfortunately couldn’t make it). It is always so nice to spend time with our team, have some fun and enjoy each other’s company.

We hope everyone is able to enjoy some time with family and take some time to relax and rejuvenate, ready for 2026.
We have some exciting news coming for you in the new year, but for now we will be taking a break until we return for our groups on January 12th.
If you haven’t seen it yet, we have one spot left in Ready Rocket and a couple left for Baking Buddies.
If you cannot commit to a full week program, Baking Buddies is a great program to consider for building social skills and cooperation through cooking (which the kids LOVE)- with single sessions being an option for this one.

Are you desperately looking for supports for your child but are stuck on waitlists?

We have recently launched a new service to support families in that exact situation.

OT Connect is a blank session blocked into our OT's calendar that can be booked into by any parent wishing to speak to an OT. The idea is that it can be a one-off appointment or as often as you would like to book yourself in.
The support and advice you will receive is from one of our experience OT's and will be personalised to your situation, based on the information that you provide us.
We aim to empower parents to feel confident to support their own child, whilst waiting for ongoing direct child therapy, or with one-off developmental concerns.

👨‍🍳 Baking Buddies Social Group is running from January 12-16th in our Longwarry Clinic!

$255 per session. NDIS or privately fundable.

Our team of Occupational Therapists will work with our group to prepare and cook some delicious recipes for the kids to take home and enjoy.

While developing motor, cognitive, self-care and safety skills through the occupation of cooking, the kids will also be developing important social skills by working in a group. Our OT's will support the children to share, take turns, collaborate and negotiate roles each day. We also find one of the biggest benefits of this program is the joy and pride the children often feel from successfully creating their own meal or treat and sharing it with their family.

Our GWM OT team have been very busy and as a result, very quiet on our socials so we wanted to give everyone an update with what we’ve been up to as we rapidly approach the end of the year!

Naomi - has been running a messy play group for children aged 0-6 in Upwey this term. Emma - has returned from her big holiday to Italy and is back seeing her regular clients. She has also started up a brand new program to provide support to families stuck on waitlists. She has immediate capacity to provide tailored parental support and strategies on an ongoing, ‘book in as you need’ basis, every Thursday. Melanie - Mel has returned from her big trip to Japan. She is back seeing her clients and preparing for the upcoming school holiday programs that she will be running with Naomi - Ready Rocket and Baking Buddies. Charlee- has finished uni for the year and has taken up extra days of client work to make sure all of our clients are finishing the year strong - thanks Charlee! Michaela- has a new addition to the family - Opie. If you give us a call and can hear some barking in the background, this adorable little guy is the culprit! Despite that, Michaela is always by the phone ready to take any questions about Make Mess With Me, OT Connect or our January school holiday groups so give her a call if you have any questions.

Happy OT Week to all of the wonderful OTs across the world!

At Grow With Me we celebrated with a team lunch and games in the office on Thursday. Once again we forgot to take a photo of all of us together, but we did manage to snap the winners of our OT Trivia with Naomi and Mel drawing equal 1st place with Charlee not far behind.

We would just like to reiterate how much we appreciate the hard work that each and every member of our team put in to the care and support of our valued clients and their families. Being an OT is never easy, but working in the NDIS space at the moment is particularly challenging. Your grit and determination to do what is best for your families despite all of the external forces working against you does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

What a day at Federation University Jobs Fair.
Naomi and Melanie had a wonderful time chatting to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students who came and had a chat with us about all the we do at GWM OT.

It was fantastic to see some of the students and AHAs that have worked with us over the last couple of years progressing in their studies, with some even completing their studies today 🎓.

We wish all the students that we spoke to all the best and hope to have some of you work with us at GWM as either a student, and AHA or a new graduate in the future.

September school holidays are just around the corner 🎉

And we are excited to be bringing back our Social Explorers and Social Problem Solvers programs.

These groups are for 4-8 year olds who have difficulty navigating the social world around them. Our programs help children to look for social cues, problem solve through issues and empower them to develop and maintain relationships.

We have limited places available with up to only 6 children in each program (1:2 therapist ratio). So register your interest today!

If you have previously done our Social Explorers program, this is the perfect opportunity to take the next step with our Social Problem Solvers program.

Welcome to our new student, Emily!
Emily will be working with Emma and her clients until the end of August and we are all excited to have her here.

Hi! My name is Emily and I’m a 3rd year Occupational Therapy student at Federation University Gippsland.
For my placement, I will be working with OT Emma at Grow With Me Therapy until the end of August.
I have lived in Gippsland my whole life and want to continue servicing this wonderful region after I graduate.
I love arts and crafts, hanging out with my friends and family, and working with kids.
At home, I live with my parents, three younger brothers, my dog Chewy, some chickens, a bird, and some very cheeky goats named Harry and Molly.

Thats a wrap on our school holiday program for term 2!
What a blast 🚀 we had running the workshop for kids.

🌟We explored our emotions.
🌟We discovered what helped our bodies to power up and power down.
🌟 We practised running our rocket at the perfect speed for the activity we were wanting to do.

There is no doubt that this is one of our favourite programs 🙌🏻

All About Us

Grow With Me OT is a new, mobile paediatric Occupational Therapy service currently working with families in the East Gippsland area.

While our therapists are from Melbourne we are committed to providing quality services in rural and regional areas of Victoria where there is often limited access to support services.

Our Occupational Therapists come to you in your home, school or kindergarten to provide therapy services to children aged 0-18.

We can work with you to increase your child's fine and gross motor skills, social skills, emotional regulation and/or sensory regulation, self-care skills, attention and organisational skills.We are also able to help families access the NDIS.
