🌿 Christopher David has been studying yoga and eastern philosophies since 2008 and has completed teacher trainings and yogic lifestyle programs at various centres in the US and NZ.

🌞 Christopher is known for his calm and welcoming presence as well as his sincere grasp of the traditional practices. Formally trained in Kundalini Yoga, and well-practised in both the Satyananda and Ashtanga traditions, his teaching style focuses on resetting the nervous system through awareness of the breath, while also educating students on physical alignment and flow.

Earth Rhythms Weekend Retreat - Make Your Own Drum
MARCH 24-26
TALLAROOK VIC (one hour from Melbourne)

While the drum-making may well be the highlight of the retreat program, it is important to note that this experience is much different from attending a workshop where you are simply learning a new skill. The Earth Rhythms Weekend Retreat offers you a chance to participate in a ceremony that not only results in a physical drum to bring home with you, but also yields a newfound clarity and inspiration for living your best life.

The process of drum-making teaches us about our connection to the plants and animals and also, the circle of life. We are reminded of the importance of slowing down and focusing on one thing at a time, as we work with only our two hands to bring the kangaroo hide and the timber frame together.

Each of us has something big to learn through this process. You will soon discover that your drum has a unique teaching for you—we call this the drum’s medicine.

Join us for this weekend of yoga, dance, nature meditations to help you reconnect to your True Nature

We were ALL born to dance...

Dance The Elements is a new project from husband and wife duo, Christopher David and Jacey May. Our mission is to create safe, fun community spaces for expression while sharing our passion for dance and embodied movement with the greater Mackay region. Together, we bring a mix of extensive experience in formal dance, ecstatic dance, yoga and pilates.

Our work is to dispel any sense of shame that often seems to accompany the thought of dancing in public. We believe that dance is something that can be very personal, empowering, and even sacred. Truly there is no right/wrong way to express ourselves through dance, as long as we are respectful of others’ space and not causing any harm.

Dance The Elements is about connecting to those most basic elements of nature that exist within all of us: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit. It is about honoring our tribal roots of dancing in community as a means of celebration, ceremony, prayer, or grief ritual.

Each dance that we hold is a space for you to dance the complexities of whoever you are in that particular moment. One moment you may need to let loose, and the next you may need to ground down, one month you may need to laugh, and the next month you might perhaps need a good cry. All is welcome. All are welcome.
