💛 No child should have to face a medical journey alone. 💛

Today, My Hospital Foundation was proud to supply comfort bears to our Emergency Department for children who need to travel on care flights to other hospitals for essential treatment.

These special bears will travel alongside our youngest patients, offering comfort, reassurance, and a friendly face during what can often be a scary and unfamiliar time for children and their families.

Whether it’s a flight for urgent care or specialist treatment, these bears are a small reminder that they are not alone on their journey.

Because sometimes, the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference. 🧸✈️

A huge thank you to everyone who helps us make moments like this possible for our community. Together, we’re supporting better care, closer to home.

💜 Small acts. Big comfort. 💜

Through the Mackay Hospital Foundation, beanies and scarves have been donated to patients across our hospital wards—bringing warmth, comfort, and a little extra care during challenging times.

In the first photo, our lovely Brenda from MHF is pictured with Claudia and her son Jonah, who is currently undergoing treatment for thymic cancer in our Oncology Ward. These beanies offer not just warmth, but a sense of comfort and support when it’s needed most.

In the second photo, we have Shaun and Denielle from the Renal Ward, where more beanies and scarves have been shared with patients.

It’s gestures like these that highlight the power of community and the impact of thoughtful giving. 💫

💐 Gift Shop Closure Notice 💐

The Gift Shop at Mackay Base Hospital will be closed on Monday 13th April as our team attends the funeral of the husband of one of our very dear volunteers.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, and during this time, we come together to support one of our own.

We appreciate your understanding and kindness 💛

The Gift Shop will reopen as usual tomorrow.
