I know what it's like to live with pain.

More importantly, I understand how important it is to listen to the person and pay attention to pain signals. Bodies are different, pain can change and too often people are completely put off having massage and other physical therapies because the bad experiences can be an utter nightmare.

I'm grateful that I found a massage therapist who took me seriously when I told him the random points that would trigger a pain flare (full body pain).

I'm also grateful to all the people who have trusted me with their massage after having bad experiences elsewhere. I know it can be daunting to try someone new.

Probably could have just said there's a reason I'm studying counselling as well, but I really do believe that talk and massage can be complimentary.

People have been asking why I chose to go into massage therapy, so I thought I'd share a few of the things that came to mind.

This is part 1 of 4. Basic, but true.

It's just me!

I've always loved massage. The little opportunities to make someone's day a little bit better. To help relieve a headache or improve someone's sleep, to calm stressed nerves or tense muscles, to reduce pain or discomfort.

It never occurred to me until recently that there's a lot of people who couldn't stand doing what I do! I know that's the case for everything which is one reason it's so important and wonderful that we're all so different.

The mistletoe cactus was a present from Bella a few years ago and it has never flowered before.
My Mandarin tree has flowers too!
I love star jasmine and I think this is the third plant I've had - until recently I thought I had killed it just like the others 😂
