Idyllic Funerals offers personalised, heartfelt celebrations of life in Sydney. I’m Matt Morgan, a Sydney-based funeral director and celebrant.

Partnered with Picaluna, we create tailored funeral and memorial services including burial and cremation options to honour each individual's life. I want to redefine how to say goodbye to your loved one. I worked in financial services for over 20 years until the loss of a dear friend inspired me to explore a more fulfilling path. I am passionate about helping others find comfort and meaning during difficult times. By offering personalised, heartfelt farewells, my aim is to not only change the way funerals are done, but also enrich lives in a profound and lasting way.

This past month, I supported a family whose loved one chose voluntary assisted dying (VAD) under NSW’s new laws.

He was calm, peaceful, and completely at ease with his decision. It was one of the most meaningful ceremonies I’ve ever been part of, one that will stay with me forever.

A couple of weeks ago we ventured down south to Pambula and went to the Wanderer Festival. I am so grateful for moments like these - laughter and sunshine with the people I love most.

What an amazing turnout last week at the Ryde–Eastwood Seniors Club, over 100 locals came together to talk about life, legacy, and the gift of planning ahead.

It’s not an easy topic, but it doesn’t have to be a heavy one. We laughed, learned, and shared stories about what really matters, family, connection, and having our wishes known.

Prepaid funerals came up a lot, and for good reason. They’re not just about finances; they’re about peace of mind and easing the burden on loved ones.
