Your Trusted Partner

Since 2005, I’ve dedicated my life to the development of others. I am a Practitioner, Coach and Consultant with a heartfelt approach to holistic wellbeing and happiness. I am also a husband and father of two. All roads have led me to this path. A vision grew within me for a long time; so clear and detailed it inevitably invoked a craving to support you. To guide you. To assist you. I felt this at a constitutional level, so powerful it consumed me and overwhelmed me in the most beautiful way. I had a vision. A life free of self-limiting patterns of behaviour; breaking through the mundane and repetitive cyclic existence so many of us unknowingly accept. To live with a tranquil mind, thriving within our own nirvanic existence is an opportunity for each and every one of us to realise. This was when Cooper Consulting came to life. My life path is to provide you with this same opportunity. Our purpose is to share this right of passage, together. The combination a unique and rounded approach, with techniques and strategies embedded in NLP frameworks will catalyse a rediscovery of your most organic self that has been neglected, suppressed and remained latent for too long. Your time is now.

The Calm Performance Pathway is a 12-week developmental container for families with athletes aged 13+.

Sport doesn’t just test young athletes.

It tests families.

Around adolescence, pressure changes shape.

Kids don’t melt down — they shut down.

They care deeply, but say very little.

Parents are left wondering whether to push… or disappear.

Most performance advice teaches athletes what to do.

Very little helps families learn how to be under pressure together.

Not to fix anyone. Not to force confidence. Not to chase outcomes.

But to learn how to navigate pressure, emotion, and identity development without losing connection, confidence, or trust — at training, in competition, and at home.

Calm isn’t a personality trait.

It’s a trainable skill.

And when families become steadier, young athletes have somewhere safe to grow.

This work isn’t for everyone. That’s intentional.

If this feels familiar, you’re not late — you’re right on time.

A kid can be talented, committed, hard-working…
but still crumble when emotions spike.
Not because they’re weak — because no one ever taught them how to regulate, reset, or reframe in pressure moments.

Mental skills fill the gap between potential and performance.

Every time.

Sport is the arena. But the emotion underneath?
.
That’s identity.

That’s belonging.

That’s fear of letting someone down.

That’s wanting to matter.

Kids aren’t dramatic. They’re learning who they are in environments that feel massive to them.

Meet the emotion, not the moment.

We’re coaching a new generation of kids.
Kids who feel everything.

Kids who notice everything.

Kids who don’t just want to perform —
they want to understand why they feel the way they do.

And here’s the part most people miss:
You can’t build a high-performance athlete
on an overwhelmed nervous system.

Once a kid feels safer inside, their stroke, speed, game awareness, decision-making —
everything lifts.

Not because they’re trying harder…
but because their system finally has space to breathe.

I love coaching and I love swim coaching - really enjoying the change of pace and focus this week at Victorian State Champs.

Have been around swimming pools since I was 2-weeks old, only natural to continue with tradition.

Watching my kids watering and tending to their piece of the garden has been very cool.

My middle son is all over the watering and my eldest has a firm grasp on trimming, pruning and deadheading her flower garden. My youngest isn’t ready for the world of the vege patch yet - it wouldn’t survive his onslaught.

Life time memories.

One point if you can guess how many strawberry’s Navy has stolen.

Extra point if you guess how many golf balls are in my back yard.

After years on pool decks, sidelines, and in one-on-one conversations, I’ve learned that most young athletes don’t outright say when something’s wrong.

They show it. Quietly.

Here are three subtle signs I see most often:

1️⃣ Withdrawal after competition – when the silence on the car ride home lasts longer than usual, or feedback suddenly feels like pressure.

2️⃣ Loss of spark – training still happens, but joy and curiosity have faded.

3️⃣ Short fuse / quick frustration – often mistaken for laziness or attitude, but actually a symptom of emotional overload.

These aren’t red flags of failure — they’re signals asking for connection. The sooner we learn to read them, the sooner our kids can start to regulate, recover, and rebuild confidence.

I’ve learned these cues the hard way — through thousands of hours in the field, watching what happens when we notice, and when we don’t.

The 3 Hidden Triggers That Shut Teenagers Down Instantly
These are the things parents don’t realise they’re doing:

1️⃣ “Fixing mode” before “feeling mode”
When you jump into solving, their brain hears: “I can’t handle this, so Mum/Dad has to.”

🟢 Instead: “Tell me more — I want to understand the full picture first.”

2️⃣ Emotional Overreactions (even subtle ones)
Sighs, raised eyebrows, leaning forward, crossing arms. Teens track micro-expressions like heat-seeking missiles.

🟢 Instead: Neutral face. Soft shoulders. Curious tone. This calms their nervous system.

3️⃣ Rushing the conversation
Teens open like doors: slowly… and only if they feel no pressure.

🟢 Instead: Give them time. Let them circle around the topic at their pace.
