❤️ Olivia’s returns to and virtually around the world on SUNDAY 8TH OCTOBER 2023 at in City of Melbourne ❤️

The wellness programs are purely funded by donations, to bring and to people with cancer, or as OliviaNewton-John Fan Page put it,

❤️ “help people with cancer to thrive”. ❤️

▶️ Taking place Sunday, October 8 at the Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne & virtually around the world, families, friends and fans (AND ) will join to bring love and light to those with cancer.

Chloe Lattanzi Olivia’s daughter, says, “it’s been such an emotional time and I know my mamma would be so proud. I want to rally everyone together, the way my mum did and encourage you all to walk either on Sunday, October 8 in Melbourne with me or virtually, so we can continue to honour my mamma’s work.

“My mum loved this walk, she looked forward to it every year, and I am now going to carry the torch and keep her dream alive. I am so proud of the work she’s done. Please sign up and walk with us … walk with my mamma — I know she is with us in spirit.”

📽️ 7min watch ❤️

Olivia’s Walk for Wellness is back this month, supporting cancer patients’ access to free wellness therapies at the Olivia Newton-John Wellness Centre.

“This is the perfect program to get kids learning how to socialise while getting supported, but also to get the motor skills they need and the confidence they need to go to school and to learn, and to live a life that we all want out in the community,” (NDIA Federal Minister, Ms Linda Reynolds)

This statement 🙌 Well said !! This is what every parent wants and what every child needs! With 42% of scheme participants being under the age of 14, your comment shows you know what you're doing when it comes to making the NDIS work, changing our nation for all people with and without disability and recognising that sport, play and participation in social and community activities is key in achieving the objectives of the scheme, improving the lives of all people living with disability, creating more inclusive communities and vital in ensuring scheme sustainability 🙌

"Play develops children's brains and builds active bodies. Play allows children to use their creativity and imagination while developing their physical, cognitive, social and emotional capabilities."

"Play allows children to learn teamwork, sharing, negotiation, conflict resolution, self-advocacy and decision-making skills. They discover their own interests and ultimately engage fully in the passions they wish to pursue."

"Play is a child's right : Play is so important to a child's growth and development that it has been recognised as a right of every child by the UNHigh Commission for Human Rights."

MELBOURNE VOLUNTEERING

Full Project Title: Exploring the relationship between traits and characteristics of autism spectrum disorder and anorexia nervosa in the general population

Principal Researcher: Dr Melissa Kirkovski
Associate Researcher(s): Dr Jake Linardon, A/Prof. Matthew Fuller-Tyszkiewicz, Prof. Peter Enticott, Dr Andrea Phillipou

Student Researcher(s): Ms Kate Fithall, Ms Indigo Erez

Study Overview
Healthy volunteers aged between 18 – 25 years are invited to take part in this online study investigating the way that different personality traits and behaviours affect the way that we perceive the thoughts and feelings of others - a process known as "Theory of Mind".

We are particularly interested in the overlap in traits and characteristics often associated with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder and anorexia nervosa, as people with these conditions often have trouble with Theory of Mind.

You will not be able to take part in this study if you are outside of this age range.

Manningham Council invites outdoor sport and recreation clubs within the municipality to attend the 2021 Outdoor Sports Forum.

Manningham Council is conducting a Sports Forum for outdoor sporting clubs in the municipality. We encourage each and every club to send up to two representatives to the forum.

The forum will offer an opportunity for clubs to learn valuable information including:
• How to bring your club’s facility improvement ideas to reality
• Who your key Council contacts are and how they can support your club
• Opportunities available for your club to do their own planning to achieve success

You will also have the opportunity to hear from Carlton Football Club CEO, Cain Liddle.
He will discuss the planning the Club has undertaken and its implementation, which has led Carlton to:

• A club record 80,000 members and counting
• Elimination of significant debt
• Stage 1 of a $50million re-development of their facilities at Ikon Park completed - with stage 2 imminent
• Increased staff engagement
• Record commercial agreements and income.

After spending 2 years on Geelong’s playing list, Cain began his career with the YMCA managing leisure facilities before spending nearly 8 years with Richmond Football Club leading the club's consumer business activities. Just after celebrating Richmond’s first premiership in 37 years, Cain was appointed as the CEO of Carlton FC in November 2017.

Cain has also spent many years involved in local sports from a playing and coaching perspective, and as a parent.

Time: 6pm for a 6.30pm start
Location: Manningham Function Centre, 1/699 Doncaster Road, Doncaster, VIC 3108
Refreshments will be provided.
To ensure we keep everyone safe and meet our COVID Safe requirements, prior registrations are essential.

Head Coach/Exercise Physiologist from Australian Alpha Tennis Academy with my 4yo at 7am in the reserve behind our house. To NDIS and industry, 'Sport is not funded and is an everyday expense.' To those of us who get it and see how hard our kids can struggle, this is CAPACITY BUILDING at it's FINEST and brings hope, joy and appreciation for inclusive sporting orgs who understand kids and play, fine and groas motor, cognitive development, emotional regulation, taking in turns, comprehension, communication, ability to rey new things and PARTICIPATE!

This whole 'Sport is not funded' and view on what Sport participation can do for kids and for anyone in building capacity and skill to be part of what many are part of throughout their lives needs to change.

Sport is funded. Sport can be funded.

During a time where I became a single Mum with 4 kids under 5yo, all with NDIS and all at home in stage 3 and 4 lockdown, sporting providers were the ones who were there providing ssupport in the form of fun sporting activities when all other allied health and community supports weren't there and trying to get hyperactive kids to do 1:1 zoom sessions and later said 'your kids have developed more in 3 months than we have seen in over 12months.'

Message me if you ever have this barrier and I would be happy to help in any way. Sometimes it takes a pandemic and a mothers love + need to survive to break down these barriers. It shouldn't though. There shouldn't be barriers.
