Are you struggling with fatigue? 🙍🏽‍♀️

A common topic of conversation between people right now is exhaustion, fatigue and lethargy. The last 18 months of switching the on and off button on work, socialising and lifestyle hobbies such as gym centres and exercising has taken a heavy toll on the majority of our energy levels.

Energy is what influences our cells and organs to function and when we don’t have enough, these parts of our body starve and as a result, suffer the consequences.

Fatigue is a signal from our bodies that we need to re-evaluate our lifestyle choices, our diet, our psychological health and spiritual state.

What are the consequences of lack of energy?

•Inability to show up fully in relationships
•Poor work concentration and motivation
•Brain fog
•Cancelling social plans
•Avoiding communication through socials
•Feeling too sluggish to exercise and be active
•Poor dietary habits

Hands up if this is you right now? 🤚🏽🙋🏽‍♀️

What small steps can we take right now to help restore our tanks and give us the trigger fuel we need to continue baby steps back to our desired selves?

•Drinking 500ml of water upon waking
•Maintaining at least 2.5L of water each day
•Rising with the sun and getting at least 7-8 hours sleep
•Getting outside for at least 30 minutes each day even if it’s just to sit down and stretch
•5 minutes of meditation before bed
•Improving just 1 meal each day

Today is R U OK? Day!

Did you know that 13% of the population will experience some mental health condition at any given time? Mental health conditions are the most disabling conditions in Australia!

Statistics show that anxiety and depression are often more common in females due to being more sensitive to inflammation and neuroinflammation, which are major contributors towards mental health conditions.

Did you know that as a natural healthcare practitioner we can delve deep into your health and assess all the underlying drivers of mood disorders?

Some underlying drivers that contribute towards mood disorders include:

Leaky gut

Dysbiosis (an imbalance of good and bad gut bacteria)

HPA dysfunction (nervous system dysfunction due to chronic, long-term stress)

Inflammatory conditions

Imbalanced immunity

Poor diet (lack of nutrients needed to support our neurotransmitters that support mood)

Oxidative Stress

There are so many ways that we can address mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression whether that be through dietary and lifestyle adjustment alone, or alongside medication.

This week is WOMENS HEALTH WEEK which is a national-wide campaign designed to remind all women across Australia to check in on their health.

Right now it is more important than ever to make sure we are in good health and to make optimal changes for improved overall health & well-being.

As mentioned on the Women’s Health Week website discussing important gynaecological health, there are 2 main types of essential gynaecological health screening checks for women. These are cervical screening tests and STI checks.

A CERVICAL SCREENING test involves taking a sample of cervical cells to help detect viruses that can cause cervical cancer. These screenings now start from the age of 25 and should be repeated every 5 years when results return normal.

STI checks help determine sexually transmitted infections. These tests should be undertaken at least once per year, however tests should be taken in between new partners and before new partners if protection has not been used. STI’s can commonly be asymptomatic (without obvious symptoms). Untreated STI’s can travel to the uterus & the fallopain tubes, resulting in PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) and infertility. Some STI’s can also be passed from the mother to the baby in utero (in the womb) and whilst giving birth.

This week should be a reminder to keep track of your health and book in your next gynaecological screening 🎀👙
