Queens!
Are you looking to reach your audience on a more personal level? Here are my tried, tested and proven ways to use Instagram Stories to reach your audience like never before!

I know i bang on about hashtags, but they are literally everything. Did you know that you can use up to 10 hashtags in each story? you can reduce the size right down & hide them behind a sticker, or swipe them off the page completely and they still work.
Time consuming but totally worth it!

Captions!
A lot of mums escape to the bathroom, pantry and quiet spots for 5 minutes alone with instagram, the kids will find you if you turn the sound on! So, don't forget to add text to your story so that the mums in hiding can watch without being found.

Gifs.
How cute are the gifs on stories, make yours stand out with a gif, something that ties with the caption. Again for the mums without sound.

Polls & Opinion Sliders.
People love to interact on Instagram, i mean that is what it was invented for.
Use the polls and opinion sliders to keep your audience engaged.

I recently asked some of the mums from a well loved facebook mums group about discount codes.

I wanted to know the consensus on using discount codes when shopping with small businesses.

It was 100% yes for using discount codes whether the business was either small or micro sized.

A few business owners chimed in saying that they priced their items to factor in discount codes and that they knew that the difference between a window shop and a sale was infact whether the shopper had a discount code to use.

One business owner wrote
" I keep my prices higher knowing that a discount code might ensure a returning customer, if using a discount code means that it makes buying from me more affordable, I am all for it"

So it seems that discount codes are a must when shopping online, a great place to find discount codes is either through instagram posts or facebook groups.

one of the most popular codes would seem to be alot of Insta influencers seem to have codes for all sorts of stores.

Next time your about to make a purchase, i would definitely check through insta posts and facebook groups, you could even reach out to the store and ask if they have a current promotion.

What business owners seem to draw the line at is " asking for freebies or people asking for collabs" this one just makes sense for me, but apparently not for all.

Id love to know what you guys think if the discount code debate?
do you look for a code when buying online? did you ever think that stores are factoring them into the price?

Do you want the secret to a successful business?
The Secret - There is NO secret!

Now, more than ever before, people are looking for real, relatable & authentic.

There's no rule book for business, and there is so much beauty in that. You get to create a business/ brand that is uniquely you.

Your competitors don't have a rule book either, they don't have a secret you don't, bigger companies than yours aren't necessarily doing things better than you, it would be wrong to assume they are making more money than you also.

Often the bigger the company, the smaller the profit margin. Shocking but true!

More sales doesn't always mean more money, more followers doesn't equal a better instagram account either, 300 authentic engaged followers are better than 5,000 ghost followers who never interact with your page.

Keep showing up, keep being your amazing self, the only secret i have is perseverance & integrity.

Stop looking over fences & wishing for more. Work for more. Create for more.
Hustle for more, enjoy the journey, and enjoy the messy middle.

It might be quite some time before you reach your ultimate goal. Make an interim goal for today or this week.

It happens to Everyone at some point.

You have been consistently posting for a while now but today, you've just run out of ideas, or you have hit a creative block.

Here are some great ideas you could try.

Go through your old posts, look for that lost gem that got a ton of attention last summer and write something relatable, or do a throwback and rehash that great conversation starter.

I know it sounds cringy, but everyone does it ( I promise) check out what others in your field are talking about, are they getting good engagement on a particular subject?

Story archives - go through your old stories, take a look at what was working for you last month, did a particular subject get a lot of DM's ? or create a buzz?

Do you have a blog? Your old blog posts but be again relevant today.
This could be a good opportunity to remind your followers they can follow you, outside of Instagram.

Now, you have a ton of ideas, go out there and slay em'

This was Spotted in Melbourne this morning, It got me thinking....

All day while chasing around after a raging lunatic ( some people refer to them as toddlers I believe )

People are angry, Melbournians are very angry, when all fingers are pointing in the same direction, it's hard not to look.

I am in Melbourne, locked down as a single parent with 4 kids, ( which includes the lunatic) it's tough, I can understand why people are angry.

Anger loves company, so does hate, and fear, once one person has it, it spreads like a deadly disease ( lets say, like a virus)

It's harder, to stay calm. Maybe there is someone or some people to blame.

I believe in the universe and I believe in karma. Whatever comes out of this, whoever made a wrong decision, will pay the price, dearly.

In the meantime, let's try and find the silver lining, even if it's hard to see, it's there.

My silver lining is all this extra family time with the kids, it's tiring, but it's time I won't get again. For that I am grateful.

How would you feel if you hired someone to do a job every week, but after a few weeks they started to slack off and provide you with less value?

How would you notice? Maybe there are clues left around? Shortcuts being taken? Subtle changes in attitude? Chances are, the difference may not be very obvious at a glance!

Once we do notice, most of us would take action pretty quickly. Every week that goes by is more money that we’re wasting.

If that sounds accurate to you, please consider this: You should consider treating all your data the same way.

Whether that’s Facebook post analytics, your lead generation funnel, or your ad budgets, I suggest you look further than the obvious metrics.

As an example, let’s talk about Facebook posts. Rather than looking at shares or reach alone, look at the ratio of your shares to your reach. That will inform a better decision about your content! Once you put those two clues together, you’re able to tell not only how the algorithm treated your post, but also what percentage of the people who actually saw it... enjoyed it! Your future content decisions will improve dramatically with this type of analysis.

Lead funnels are the same. If you are simply looking at your return on ad spend or your acquisition cost, you’re missing out on all the delicious informative metrics in between. For example, if you’re getting low clicks on an ad, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not working! It could very well just be attracting a specific type of high-paying customer that will convert on the other end of the funnel. You can take this insight to further tune your creative.

Data is all about breaking past the obvious. It’s daunting at times, but I promise you that it’s incredibly rewarding!
