Absolutely crucial to shake things up every now and then. Last night, I did just that—ditching the usual 3:30 a.m. grind for an evening run. The shift brought an entirely new energy, and guess what? Without even aiming for it & metrics to me are always secondary, I hit my fastest PR for a marathon according to Strava. Proof that when you stay locked in on your inner game, the outer results take care of themselves.

A little time out is good & optimal for better performance long term! 30KM run done. Something to keep in mind, the exercise is the "fun" but ALWAYS make time for the "recovery" & that means more than just smashing a protein shake or gatorade :).

Some suggestions of what I currently do & for those increasing their routines especially running!
Cold shower or cold plunge post run - 2-3 minutes
Infrared Sauna - 30 minutes, temperatures up to you but usually 40-60 degrees
Floatation Therapy - THIS!!! Amazing worth checking out
Red Light Therapy
Leg & Arm Compression Therapy
Rehydrate and EAT WELL!

When you surrender instead of resist, everything unfolds naturally, almost handed to you, bringing an overwhelming sense of peace and connection—mind, body, spirit. Running? That’s just the activity. Looking back, I’ve logged 9,000KM since October 2019, with no grand plan to reach that number. It wasn’t about setting goals—it’s been about showing up and evolving into who I choose to become. Was it worth it? Absolutely. When we push beyond our self-imposed limits, profound change happens. It's inevitable, and it shouldn't be feared, but embraced.

I’ve said this before when asked about my weekly marathons/ultras, and I’ll say it again with a little more: "I’m not a runner; I just run and tap into the potent power of I AM."

I hope this sparks something in others—because trust me, it’s all possible.

This was definitely a "spiritually guided run" from above😇. Check this out, during these runs controlling thoughts are not always easy, especially the negative ones. Now, this 'spiritual thing' happened not once but 4 times! There I was running down random streets when the city is asleep, an average thought crept in and within seconds the street lamp above me when out. A few hours later down another street, another sh*tty thought & bam, lights out london😆. I guess 'jesus be thy guide" is true after all, the world works in mysterious ways. Anyway, this 100KM run was incredible, lots of lessons 🤘 & the last few KMs, the ultimate test.
Remove your limitations, you'd be astounded what greatness lies within, ready to be unleashed, think, dream big & I seriously mean this, try it! 🤛💪

Planned for a 'settle-back-in-to-50km' run after 2 weeks off but exceeded to 60km🤷‍♂️🤪. Felt great , I missed it but of course sometimes taking a break is needed and smart, however the lesson here today, don't stay away too long😆.
Super cold this morning at 3am but once you start moving it all goes away😀 so never be put off by the elements they can teach you a lot.

Keep going after whatever it is you want, its on its way🥊🥊.

WOW😲, I'll be celebrating this win, 72KM...my longest run...yet🥊. Planned to do 50KM, but hey, it's all about pushing past your limitations right? During this run, I bumped into a bystander at the traffic lights & we had the following brief conversation:
Bystander asks - "What are you training for"?
Me - "I'm training for life".
He leaned back, raised his eyebrow and said "ok then...that's as good of a reason as any😀".
Me - Yep, I've often said, medals rust over time, stats get deleted...but it's what you become through the activity that lasts the longest".
Bystander - Pondered on this til the lights went green & i was off again...

My question to you? What are you training for in life?

I'm seeing a lot of great folks getting out there, be it running, biking, walking, lifting...PLEASE, PLEASE KEEP IT UP👌!
You are adding years to your life & you will also start to notice more enjoyment that comes with these actions, just amazing isn't it🤪.
We, as a society, are not meant to be couch bound all the time (those with disabilities excluded). Yet, so many struggle to get off the fooking thing & move, just crazy huh?

I believe in deep truth and being direct about it, THE MIRROR NEVER LIES, get honest with it then begin to work at creating your best self because it's within EVERYBODY!
The process is so so simple, yet we make it too complex, here are the instructions...one step at a time, one day at a time.

Don't compare yourself to others, be inspired by them and most of all dare to ask them questions about how they got there, you'll find that they'll be very willing to help!
There is NO SECRET to living a healthy life, it is a simple choice!

In closing, enjoyed this 50KM this morning, lots of life lessons were learned throughout & the 3:30 am start, you just can't beat it, the world is yours, Be well, Live Well! \m/
