We are hiring!

We are looking for more Community Support Workers to join the Pakari team!

Our Community Support Workers provide a range of individual and group support to Pakari participants who
experience psychosocial disability and other disabilities. This includes support provided in the participants homes, at the Pakari Hub and in community settings.

Community Support Workers aim to enhance participants quality of life, promote independence, maximise choice and control and foster meaningful connections. Supports are delivered using a person cantered, strengths based, recovery focused and trauma informed approach, consistent with Pakari’s values and NDIS Practice Standards.

What are we looking for?

Essential Criteria
* Minimum Certificate IV qualification in Mental Health, Mental Health Peer Work, Community Services, Disability, Aged Care / HACC or Allied Assistance or currently studying. Alternatively relevant experience.
* Commitment to a human rights based, person centered approach and maximizing participant choice and control.
* Knowledge of the NDIS and its role in supporting people to achieve their goals.
* High level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to adapt to diverse communication needs.
* Understanding of local community resources and networks.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to shared goals.
* Competency in using client information systems, email and documentation tools with access to a smartphone and data.
* Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.

Desirable Criteria
* Experience supporting people with psychosocial disability in an NDIS environment.
* Knowledge of recovery oriented practice in mental health.

Special Conditions
* Current Australian Drivers License and access to a vehicle suitable for work.
* Comprehensively insured motor vehicle
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Working With Children Check
