Last night I shared with the yogis my "aha" moment of the week.
As true beings of light, winter can be a overwhelming and challenging time for us all. Atomic Habits by James Clear is part of my emotional first aid kit I listen to when I feel myself feeling a little flat.
In the audio book, James discusses the system in Japan they have, called "point and call" on their rail platforms, a system of voicing out loud and pointing a check list by the workers reducing platform accidents and improving safety!
Importantly what this does is create a higher awareness rather than "functioning from the mind". It came to me in a meditation, how when I do this - effectively speaking words out loud, overriding the voice in my head which is all consuming and muddled at best, I am far more effective, confident and have a stronger sense of purpose when facing my daily tasks.
Living alone, its easy to live in your head - I invite you to join me and try to "speak out loud" with encouragement and firm purpose - talking to yourself is not madness, in effect, its practising your yoga in your daily life - creating a higher awareness and taking on Terrific Tuesday with a renewed sense of purpose and positivity - enjoy your day, its a true gift!
