Sincerity Support Services is greatly concerned regarding the complete mismanagement of the NDIS, We are witnessing first hand where people in need are being denied the support the NDIS was setup to provide.

We are seeing the new laws regarding evidence being mismanaged. A GP letter is no longer enough, an OT report is no longer enough. Its the multifaceted collection of reports that seem to enable the more afluent, those with mainstream supports, family members, friends and others who can spend the money required to obtain the evidence needed. Which is great and all involved should be recognised, well done!
While those who live alone, who are often left behind, often have no family, no friends and of course no money, are unable to collect the evidence that is deemed acceptable to the NDIS, they are left behind. It is denial of those less fortunate. Very wrong!

We also see these Community Engagement Plans being used now more often and they are simply a list of names of supports in the community. This is often the help you get when your not actually getting any help. Its a pretentious attempt to make the NDIS look like they are doing something, while in fact doing nothing.

NDIS watchdog chiefs racked up $800,000 travel bill while complaints ignored
NDIS watchdog executives have blown almost $800,000 on flights while the regulator faces damning criticism for being only “partly effective” at protecting vulnerable participants. The following is an extract from a recent news report.

National News Network

EXCLUSIVE: Top executives from the NDIS watchdog, which was slammed in a damning audit for being only “partly effective”, spent almost $800,000 on jetting around Australia over a two and a half year period.
800k flying around the country, this is just as big a mismanagement of funds, as the theft and blatant fraud that is destroying the system.

Finally, today I met a participant who is wheelchair bound, suffers a rear disability called Inclusion Body Myositis, (IBM). I was absolutley broken hearted listening to how she has been beaten down by consecutive rejections for 24/7 care. Because she excericises her right to choice and control, she is denied the support she so clearly needs. I offered to take up her case without charge and she declined stating "no they win, i physically and mentally cannot continue to endure this disease and fight the NDIS at the same time, its too much. I will die alone most likely and i am at peace, so thank you but i cant do it" I seen a broken member of society that lead me to tears. Tears of frustration and helplessness, watching her physically decline to skin and bone and her independence being taken away, what was equally sad was she has been forced to give up. This is cruel and then I read of the amount of money spent on flying around the country doing what? 800k is a substantial amount of money.

If she could have just given me consent I would have taken on her fight, but I seen her beaten down and broken and its just not right.

NDIS must do better!

Warning Post contains sensitive information and subject matter:

Sincerity Support Services is not providing an opinion outside of our own experiences.

It seems the family involved was in ongoing battles with the NDIS and other support services, regarding community supports and trusted entities, for the children involved. We have found in many cases the battle to provide the NDIS “evidence” is becoming harder. It is no longer enough to provide a GP letter as evidence; it must be evidence from multiple sources. Allied Health, Psychologist etc., as they try to reduce the costs of providing support to societies most vulnerable people.

The effort that goes into collating evidence is getting more time consuming and costing substantial amounts of funding. It is our experience, often the funding runs out, and we are then in a position of not being able to fulfill the requirement of evidence. We reach a stalemate; it is and always has been Sincerity policy to continue support if funding is depleted but we cannot cover the cost of Allied Health Professionals. We fear the tragic story below will become too common occurrence; one time is already too common.

This following story is tragic and is heartbreaking, as stated we do not know the full details, but we can see there was substantial challenges, not addressed and not met by the government programs. Our heart breaks and we encourage you to seek assistance

Sincerity Support Services (VIC) PTY LTD has a proposal for the NDIA and the Quality Safegaurds Commison.

The introduction of QSC Agents: This would have to be thought out but basically, the commission would place operators within random homes as an observer, a person paid by the government to oversee homes ran by providers?

A QSC Agent, acting in the role of investigator, would attend any home of any provider supporting participants in their home or shared home, with short notice of say 24 hours and take on the role of acting supervisor or buddy shifting support worker, with of course the role of observation and evidence gathering. The idea of a supporting ot contributing role is purely to ensure participants supports are not disrupted.

What is your thought, do you think this could work? Do you have suggestions on how we can stop this happening?

We welcome your thoughts on ways to ensure this very important service, the NDIS is sustainable.

I think we all agree on one thing and that is this disgraceful behaviour, this disgusting criminal behaviour has to stop and the NDIS needs to do something.

Whats your thought?

NDIS Update:
Major reforms are on the way, with mandatory registration for SIL and digital platform providers starting 1 July 2026. New integrity and safeguarding legislation has been introduced to Parliament, alongside plans for a fairer and more consistent planning process from mid-2026. The government is continuing to crack down on fraud and exploitation, while regular system updates and new 2025–26 pricing arrangements have been released.

At the same time, the NDIS is highlighting participant success stories and consulting on a streamlined advocacy program. However, concerns remain around provider viability under current pricing, particularly in rural areas, and reports of funding cuts affecting participants with complex needs.

NDIS Planning Changes - What You Need to Know

From mid-2026, the NDIS will begin rolling out a new planning approach designed to be fairer, more consistent and easier for participants. These changes come directly from feedback shared by people with disability, families, carers and providers during the Independent Review of the NDIS.

What’s changing?
• Planning will focus on a person’s support needs, not just functional impairment
• A person-centred, strengths-based approach
• Fairer and more consistent budgets
• Less need for expensive reports
• Simpler, more flexible plans
• Plans will cover longer periods, with fewer reviews

Support Needs Assessments
Participants will meet with a trained assessor to talk about their daily life and the supports they need. You can bring family, carers or support people. This assessment will help create your NDIS budget, with plans always approved by trained NDIA staff.

Budgets & Flexibility
Funding will be provided through flexible budgets, with some stated supports where needed. This gives participants more choice and flexibility in how supports are used.

Your rights stay the same
Participants can still request plan changes, reassessments and reviews — including external reviews through the Administrative Review Tribunal.

Community involvement
People with disability are actively involved in co-designing these changes, with thousands already contributing through consultations, workshops and testing.

Changes will be introduced gradually, so many participants won’t see changes straight away.
Public consultation on the new rules will begin in early 2026.

For more information, visit the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing website or attend an “Understanding the NDIS” information session.

From mid-2026, the NDIS planning process will begin changing to make it fairer, more consistent and easier for participants. This new approach is called new framework planning.

NDIS Update - Big Proposed Change for Psychosocial Disability Support

A new Grattan Institute report says governments could redirect $2B a year from the NDIS to create a National Psychosocial Disability Program - a support system for people with severe mental illness who currently miss out.

Right now, the NDIS spends $6B supporting just 66,000 people with psychosocial disability, while around 130,000 others to get no support at all and are stuck in limbo, often ending up homeless or in hospital.

The proposed new program would support 230,000 Australians, giving them access to “support facilitators” (a new role helping people navigate services), short-term funding for essentials, and recovery-focused community supports.

The goal: help people recover earlier so they don’t need to deteriorate just to qualify for the NDIS.

Governments agreed to build “foundational supports” outside the NDIS back in 2023, but progress has stalled. Negotiations continue, and it’s unclear when a final deal will be reached.

What are your thoughts on this???

NDIS participants warned about misleading ads

The Australian Government is cracking down on businesses falsely claiming their products are “NDIS approved” or “100% NDIS funded.” The NDIA doesn’t endorse any products, and companies making these claims may be breaking the law.

Since last year, over 700 cases of dodgy behaviour have been referred to regulators, with more than $100,000 in fines issued, including to big names like Thermomix and Bedshed.

A new taskforce is now targeting misleading advertising to better protect people with disability and their families.

“We won’t tolerate businesses misleading people with disability,” said Minister Jenny McAllister.
“If your business model relies on tricking NDIS participants, expect consequences,” added Assistant Minister Andrew Leigh.

NDIS Fraudster Sentenced in NSW

A NSW woman has been sentenced for laundering more than $1 million linked to a major NDIS fraud scheme. Angelina Deliciso received an 18-month Intensive Corrections Order after an NDIA investigation uncovered her role in a network making millions in false NDIS claims.

The case began after tip-offs from participants and revealed multiple companies had their identities stolen and falsely registered as NDIS providers.

The NDIA says the sentence sends a strong message: fraud against people with disability won’t be tolerated.

This follows an earlier conviction of another member of the network, Jugurtha Zafrane, who was sentenced in 2022 and ordered to pay $32,000.

The NDIA and AFP continue to crack down on NDIS fraud, with the Fraud Fusion Taskforce now investigating more than 600 cases and stopping billions in non-compliant payments.

If you suspect NDIS fraud, call 1800 650 717 or report it online.

The Government has introduced major NDIS integrity and safety reforms.
The new Bill strengthens protections for participants by:
• Introducing much tougher penalties for misconduct - including fines over $16 million and new criminal penalties.
• Expanding the NDIS Commission’s monitoring, compliance and enforcement powers.
• Extending banning orders to auditors and consultants.
• Creating anti-promotion orders to stop providers pushing services that undermine the Scheme.
• Adding a 90-day cooling-off period for participants leaving the NDIS.
• Mandating electronic claim forms to reduce fraud.

These changes aim to crack down on abuse, neglect, exploitation and fraud, ensuring the NDIS remains safe, sustainable and focused on delivering quality support for people with disability.

It is finally recognised and no we are not alone.

We have had participants in this situation, put many hours in unpaid and had to terminate employment due to the lack of funding.

Sometimes life is far more complex for those participants that have no family, no friends and as a result no next of kin. We were told by a planner to work "Pro Rata" at our own expense, as this is what "good providers do" we were shocked at this comment and they knew how much effort we had put in.
We could never walk away from someone in this position.

This article is of no surprise sadly.

Supporting Participants through the NDIS.

We started as a husband and wife team and are slowly galvanising a team of like minded support workers. We are from assorted backgrounds with life experiences and qualifications allowing us to bring change to the lives of those we support. When doing work we love, this is not a job but a way to help those with disabilities and mental health issues. The National Disability Insurance Scheme is the greatest initiative Australia has ever implemented into changing the lives of those living with Disability.

We have a great compassion and love for those who were not long back left to fend for themselves and socially left behind. Sincerity support services was named by a client and it is a name we hold dear to our hearts. Every client we have is seen as a privilege to support, as an honor to be able to be entrusted with the joy of assisting clients to reach their personal goals. Every client is at the forefront of all decisions regarding the support we provide them. So many disabled were neglected by society and often misunderstood. The Australian government’s initiative to create the NDIS, has provided a wonderful opportunity for those with a disability to be become more active members of society, being socially included, focusing on building individual capacity and enabling participants to set personal goals and we love nothing more than to support each of our clients in anyway we can to assist them achieve those goals and more.

We have clients who have been able to return to work, clients who are finding they are talented at arts or music, creating their own brand of soaps or wood working skills that they never thought they had lost. At Sincerity we have a simple and shared approach together as a team and that sees us go “Over and Above” for all our NDIS Participant clients.

We will be taking on more clients this year and have a stable work force of experienced Disability Support Workers and excellent cleaning and gardening staff as well.
