ROADwhyz VICTORIA

ROADwhyz VICTORIA Welcome to ROADWHYZ VICTORIA - Victoria's Newest Road Safety Initiative A joint initiative between members of Victoria’s State Emergency Services incl.

Police, Ambulance, Hospital Emergency Departments and real life victims and sufferers of road trauma including the families, ROADWHYZ VICTORIA Choice & Consequence is an intensive course focussed on road trauma awareness and road safety education for young drivers in the state of Victoria,

Emotional, graphic and hard hitting, the Choice & Consequence program explores the causes, effects, and ultimate consequences of road trauma by exposing young drivers and their parents, not only to the brutal and bloody realities of what they, their friends and family can expect if involved in a serious or fatal crash, but equally debilitating, the emotional flow on effects for all those left behind as well

Over the course of the program, ROADWHYZ VICTORIA attempts to empower our most precious commodities [our children] with the tools, skills and knowledge necessary, to ensure that by understanding they are in charge of the choices they make whilst behind the wheel, they are in fact in control of the consequences that ensue, and ultimately the ability to keep themselves and those around them safe and alive on our roads

As the ballot papers hit your dining tables, your office desks and kitchen benches, take a moment to think about who you are voting for.
Who you are about to tick 1 next to in the box. Do you know their values? Have they done anything for you? For your your family? For your street? For your club? For your community? For the shire?
Have they been accessible to meet with you? Have they been available on the phone? Said they’d call back?
Do they support ALL community members, clubs, community groups without bias? Do they have any allegiance to a political party?

I’m not asking you to pick me, I believe that you will choose wisely after reading and maybe asking others, and the decision you make will be your representative for the next 4 years.

Choose wisely.

Great name! Be careful though other states have other interests

It is with great sadness and regret that ROADWhyz Victoria will be closing its business early 2020.

Director Jason Callanan has agonised over this decision for many months now and due to some external influences has had to close the business.

The closure of ROADWhyz Victoria (the name) has been forced out by WALGA (western Australian Local Government Association) who utilise a similar name known as ROADWISE. They have engaged lawyers who have sent a “cease and desist” letter and threatened legal action if ROADWhyz Victoria continues.

Therefore the name ROADWHYZ VICTORIA is forced to close and all material (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and website) will cease effectively by 2020.

ROADWhyz Victoria is small not for profit service that cannot and does not have the ability to contest this legal action by WALGA.

Director Jason Callanan wishes to thank those that helped him get this vital community based program up and running and they are- I Andre and Erika Kogan, Christine Bordan,Shane Bordan, Al Clemment, Jules, Jacqui, Geoffrey Exton, Heilsson, Micheal, and many others that contributed to the running of this program.

Also the businesses and people that provided valuable assistance to the program, Julie Demby (lilydale Safety Wear), Roger Williams (Liquid Glass), Hard Yakka, Hotmetal Design, Code 12 towing, Federal MP Tony Smith,State MP Christine Fyffe, State MP Brad Battin, State MP James Merlino, and especially the Wandin-Seville Community Bank and Jan Ockwell who believed in the program and helped establish funding.

If Jason has missed anyone, he wishes give a massive Thank You to them also.

And to the community and schools that experienced the program (too many to name) Jason C Callanan is eternally grateful for the on going support and commitment to reducing the road toll by changing the attitudes of young drivers, not only in Victoria but NSW also.

Let’s not forget the young drivers that attended this program and listening to the message of ROADWhyz. It is you that will make a difference! Remember”Actions change attitudes quicker than attitudes change actions”. Your Choices WILL influence the consequences you experience!

To Jason’s wife Lisa Callanan who has supported Jason and the program over the years, he is ever so thankful for her support.

Finally to Michelle Davis and her team in NSW for givingJason the opportunity to spread the word here in Victoria.
