We have been inundated with the most beautiful messages of support over the past 24 hours. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to congratulate us on our 5th birthday. We are so grateful for the incredible community around us. Here is one of our favourite messages.

“Five years of Umbrella, Congratulations. I don’t know where I would be without you. “I got you,” is what you said to **** and me. You sure have and we wouldn’t be without you. You make people feel amazing and that they can do anything they want. So grateful you are in our lives and we are under your beautiful yellow umbrella”

We kicked off our 5th birthday celebrations in style today with cakes for everyone! 🎂 But don’t worry team, if you weren’t in today, you won’t miss out. The cakes will continue all week!

We were also thrilled to welcome new participant Dayna to the Umbrella family and loved spending the day getting to know her. It was also so lovely having Carol from our admin team join us for the celebrations.

We honestly can’t believe it.

Our participants are the true superstars, and this week we’re celebrating every single one of them. Whether you’ve been with us for five years or five minutes, we appreciate you more than words can say. We also want to thank your wonderful families for the trust they place in us each and every day.

From arts and crafts, health and wellbeing, cooking, employment programs, blogging, media training, podcasting, and individual support, every activity and every moment is made special because of the incredible people who are part of Umbrella Support.

Whatever it is that brought you to Umbrella, we are so grateful you’re here.

Here’s to the next five years of friendship, growth, laughter, and opportunity.

We’re officially open! ☕

You can now visit our café at the Lyrebird Community Centre in Carrum Downs every Wednesday and Friday morning from 10am to 12pm.

Our team has been working incredibly hard behind the scenes, and it’s been wonderful to see our REACH Employment Preparation Program participants in action serving customers, preparing orders, and creating a welcoming space for our community.

Thursdays are for blogging and media training at Umbrella, and today was such a fun one!
We started the morning trying to work out what the Japanese writing on the wall meant, and together we cracked the code. Problem solving is definitely one of the things we specialise in!
