Wow, last time I posted on here, this little man was the size of a cantaloupe in my belly 🙈 and here we are 6 MONTHS old 😭
I have been loving motherhood so far 🙌 it has been the hardest, most challenging journey I have been on, but by far the most rewarding 🥰
-
I started doing some of my own mobile PT sessions with previous clients who have kids as the COVID-19 restrictions eased and it was safe to do so, and we have both been thoroughly enjoying that 😍 Charlie gets to interact and play with other little humans and I get to work and socialise with adult humans, we are both winning 🙌
-
Now that gyms are open, Jordan and I did our first workout together last night 💪 about 2 months ago my Mum and Sister moved in with us following some tragic family circumstances, so looking on the bright side, we have babysitters at home most of the time now 😅 once he’s down for a sleep, I’m free to leave the house 👌
-
I actually was hanging to get back to the gym whilst I was waiting for my postpartum doctors clearance, and I went a handful of times and HATED it. I felt like a fish out of water, I was in an environment that I’m usually super experienced in and my fitness was at an all time low, I was over weight and worst of all, weak 😫
-
I’m still weak and unfit, but I’m back to the weight I was before pregnancy. My body composition is completely different though, and I feel like this is quite typical. Iv lost so much muscle mass, and I especially notice it on my bottom half 😫 🍑
-
So my goals are:
💪 To build strength, and gain muscle mass.
💪To rehab my weaknesses (weak wrists, one shoulder tighter/weaker than the other, my core 😫 which affects my lower back sometimes now too)
💪 To be consistent and actually look forward to my workouts (👈👈👈 this one is so important for me)
-
I think it’s super important when setting goals for yourself for them to be realistic and achievable. For me, setting a goal based on how I want my body to look doesn’t work. I don’t care enough 🤣 And I love food too much 😏
For me it has to be about how I FEEL. So I want to feel STRONG, and have more ENERGY.
-
What are your goals for the second half of 2020?

These are my favourite leggings at the moment bc they make my bump look the biggest 🤪 I feel like I’m so desperate for my belly to pop out, but at the same time I know daily life will probably get a bit harder when it does 😅
-
I’m almost 20 weeks! (19 weeks 2 days) I kinda can’t believe I’m almost half way, and kinda can’t believe it’s only been this long and I have the other half to go 😅 I feel like I’m torn, and half want time to go quicker! And half trying to calm down and enjoy the process 🧘🏼‍♀️
-
This is my second week back into training 💪 I’ve been joining in the classes I take at which is good motivation for me, and our members are the best so they are fun to train with! I’m actually feeling really good! I thought I would struggle more than I have which is a great feeling 🙌 I literally hadn’t done any resistance training for like 3 months since I first found out I was pregnant at 8 weeks. I still walk my dogs every day when I can (🌧😒)
-
Other than having my appendix out last month, it’s been a pretty smooth journey so far. I haven’t suffered from ANY morning sickness 🙌 I was just SUPER tired up until about 15/16 weeks. I get a little bit of heart burn in the evenings at the moment, but it’s bearable
-
3 weeks on Sunday until our gender reveal party to find out what this little bean is! I have my money on girl 💝 but I really don’t care either way 👶🥰

FEELING THANKFUL
For you , my number one
-
We have done some pretty amazing things with our time together so far, and hit many speed bumps along the way
-
Now I’m growing our bump that will be our new favourite person and unite us as a family forever 💕 I still can’t get my head around it sometimes
-
From where we would rather be right now, chasing waterfalls, sunsets and beachfronts 🥰
-
Thank you for everything you do, and are tirelessly doing for our future together. It will be amazing, and I can’t wait for every second of it with you 😘

GLAD TO BE BACK ⠀
I was getting very bored at home 😩 me and this little bump are glad to be back at work⠀
-⠀
16 weeks pregnant today 🤰 ⠀
12 days post appendix removal 🏥 ⠀
I’m feeling really good. My pain is super low, I actually forget that I am still technically recovering from surgery 😅 My tiredness has eased off, I’m off all medication. I just feel really unfit at the moment ⠀
-⠀
It’s crazy how much you lose when you do NOTHING. I have thoroughly missed the 10 min stretch I get to do 1-2 times each day at the end of my group sessions, I couldn’t believe how tight I feel when I did the first one! ⠀
I had to mentally get myself through my dog walk yesterday, which usually takes me 35-40 mins.. took me 50mins 😅⠀
-⠀
But it’s all fine. I’m just glad to be able to move again. I know I can work back up to all of this and more in a week or 2, and slowly re introduce weights sessions and gain as much strength back as I can 💪

ONE LUCKY MAMA
-
So since about Saturday last week I had this pain in my lower right tummy. It felt kind of like I had been stabbed, it hurt when I moved and just kind of ached when I was still. I thought it was just ligament stretching pains from the pregnancy 🤰 🤷🏼‍♀️
-
I went to the docs Saturday, he called me back on Sunday and told me I had a UTI so I started atiobiotics on Monday
-
On Wednesday night I was in quite a bit of pain, I was sobbing on the couch at home, took some Panadol and went to bed
-
Thursday my alarm goes of at 5.10am, I got up and was still in pain. I had a group session to run at 6, it was bloody hard to get through. I came home crying and told we were going straight to the hospital
-
So after a day of testing and monitoring me, it was confirming via ultra sound that my appendix were inflamed. So that night I went into surgery and had them removed. They had already ruptured, and it was a bit of a mess in there. We were very lucky, it could have been a lot worse
-
So day 4 in hospital now, I’m feeling a lot better. I can move around fairly easily and my pain is manageable with just Panadol at the moment
-
I am feeling super grateful for the people in my life. has been by my side every day, I couldn’t ask for a better support ❤️. My beautiful mum has showered me, washed and blow waved my hair for me today💖 I feel a bit more human now 😅
-
So hopefully I’m home tomorrow, with another check in on baby 👶 before I go to double check all is well
-
With this being my first pregnancy I just don’t know what to expect. I don’t know how much pain is normal and when to complain, but honestly I think it’s just better safe than sorry always. If I had of left it another day I could have been in serious trouble! @ Austin Hospital, Melbourne

I have been super quiet on IG lately waiting TO MAKE THIS ANNOUNCEMENT 🤩😍
my favourite person and I made a little person 👶
-
Due on the 10th December 2019
-
I have been feeling pretty great so far, I haven’t experienced morning sickness 🙌 I have just felt very tired ALL THE TIME 🤦‍♀️ which is okay because I’m lucky enough to be able to have a nap on most days if I need to
-
And otherwise just hungry 🤪 I can tell I have put on fat as well as grown a little bump, and I’m honestly not stressed about it at all
-
I know my body will be different after this, I know I will gain fat and my training will change. But it’s fine. I’m bringing a LIFE into the world! I have wanted this since I was like 15 🤪 as much as it’s going to be a big shock when our whole lives change, I’m so excited. I have amazing people around me, and I can’t wait to see be a dad 😘
-
Happy bump day 👶🥰

FLASHBACK ⠀
To this little gal ⠀
-⠀
I danced competitively since the age of 4. I never had the typical ‘build’ of a dancer, I’m short and stocky 😬 Lots of the girls I danced with tho were but I never remember it bothering me. I don’t remember comparing myself to them ever⠀
-⠀
I have always had concerns in the back of my mind about my body, and I have never been fully satisfied with how I look. I remember thinking about whether I should skip breakfast to lose weight when I was about 8 or 9, but I never did it. I thought that was a silly idea because I love breakfast 😅⠀
-⠀
I was bullied for being fat in grade 6. I wasn’t actually that fat at the time 😅 I just started growing b***s by age 10 and had some extra fat around my tummy. But kids can be cruel, I’ll just leave it at that ⠀
-⠀
I’m definitely not trying to downplay body image issues, I guess I’m just grateful that growing up in the typical environment for these issues to develop, they never controlled my life. The ideas have definitely been there, that I need to lose weight and should look a certain way, but I have never lost sleep over it⠀
-⠀
I know now how to lose weight. I know how to listen to my body, I know I will struggle more with compliance if I am sleep deprived. I know that I can push past cravings and ‘hunger’ if I am trying to control calories to shift some KG’s. I know not to feel guilt about over eating or indulging at a social event. Life is too short ⠀
-⠀
Weightloss is quite simple for the general population. Not necessarily EASY, but it is simple. It’s projected to be so complicated with every new diet claiming it’s the magic secret, Keto, IMF, Paleo, Meat Free, Meat Only, whatever it is, it’s just a CALORIE DEFECIT ⠀
-⠀
You know how it’s easier and more fun to make a mess in your bedroom than it is to clean it up? Same thing with weightloss. It’s going to take a bit longer probably, unless your just shoving everything under your bed and in your wardrobe. They are you bad habits, and they will come back out eventually⠀
-⠀
Find a way that works for you in the long run. Don’t punish yourself for not being able to stick to something, that thing just isn’t for you, but something will be 👌⠀

LIFESTYLE⠀
Why do you stay fit and healthy? ⠀
-⠀
For me, I find it hard to be motivated by fitness goals based on my appearance. Although I have thought that it would help my credibility as a personal trainer, I have never really cared to train for a bikini or fitness comp. I couldn’t think or anything worse than to stand on a stage and have my body judged by a panel of judges and a huge audience. Just my personal preference tho 🤷🏼‍♀️⠀
-⠀
I am more motivated to be active and healthy for my lifestyle. Because this is how I love to spend a weekend away, with my man and our dogs 🐶 🐷 climbing rocks and hiking through the bush 🌳🦋🌤

COMMUNITY FEELS ⠀
My favourite gym environment is one where it’s like a family. My favourite part of group fitness sessions is taking everyone through a stretch at the end⠀
-⠀
Seeing their exhausted satisfaction from the workout, and then chatting about what they are having for dinner, what they are getting up to that night or the following weekend or just when we will see each other for our next session together ⠀
-⠀
We create accountability, we build friendships and it’s just all round a great vibe. My job is easy to love, and I think being part of an environment like this makes it easier to love your workouts⠀
-⠀
If you have found it hard to stick with a gym, find an environment like this when you are next looking 👌🙌

WHY WE EAT WELL ⠀
-⠀
I think it’s really important to know WHY you might WANT to eat well (not just feel like you should)⠀
-⠀
Let’s start with eating well.. what is that? I would say it’s generally a diet including lots of vegetables, adequate protein intake, variety or fruit and good fats. You’re satisfied after each meal, you have enjoyed the food and it makes your body feel and function well⠀
-⠀
How you eat FOR THE MOST PART is absolutely going to affect how your body looks. Ever heard that saying ‘one salad doesn’t make you skinny’ or ‘one burger never made you fat’ ? Yet there is so much stigma about ‘cheat meals’ ‘guilt free’ or ‘bad foods’ - when people ask me ‘is this bad for you?’ I never just say yes or no. I generally say ‘depends how much / how often’ ⠀
-⠀
What is a bad food? Usually foods with high calories and low nutritional value. Your body knows the difference. And if you listen to your body, it will tell you which it prefers. Making good food choices isn’t actually that hard and the benefits are endless. You feel better, function better, look better (not even just fat loss/ fat gain, your skin just looks better)⠀
-⠀
I know that when I have been making poor food choices, it affects my motivation to exercise or even just be productive. But I don’t beat myself up about it. I don’t feel guilty if I ‘treat myself’ and enjoy a night out, celebrate an occasion or just have an occasional lazy night in with take away. It’s not how I live 90% of the time, and allowing myself that freedom makes my life more enjoyable⠀
-⠀
Knowing why we eat well in the first place makes it easier to get back into the swing of things. Acknowledging being ‘healthy’ as your lifestyle rather than an 8/10/12 week fix is always going to be more sustainable. Knowing that you will get back into your routine soon enough allows you to enjoy those celebrations, holidays or whatever it is WITHOUT GUILT ⠀
-⠀
So please, don’t feel bad for eating ‘bad foods’ don’t PUNISH yourself with a workout because of it. Eat well because you want to FEEL well. Treat yourself so that you can ENJOY your life. Workout because it makes you feel good 💪

What I LOVE about my job
-
PT for me isn’t always about transformation pics and fat loss, although they are great results too
-
My favourite part is coaching people how to move correctly. To engage muscles and improve the mind muscle connection. To get better and better at an exercise each week, before adding weights. To see a client improve their confidence in the gym is a huge win for me
-
Fat loss, increased fitness levels and body composition change will be the by products of changing your lifestyle. Building a strong foundation will ensure your success for the LONG TERM 👊 no quick fixes here ❌
