A little update on Nagi.
Nagi’s owner first came to me with concerns around stifle locking, something that can be really worrying to see in a horse. To be completely honest, this was something I hadn’t personally treated before in my career, and at first that felt a little daunting. But I was determined to learn everything I could and do my absolute best to support her.
I went back to my books, spent time researching the stifle mechanism, and really looked into what might be happening in her body and how I could help support her movement.
Nagii’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. She came to her new owner with some serious health challenges, and her owner has poured so much time, care and dedication into helping bring her back to health. Working closely with their vet, focusing on nutrition, management and overall wellbeing, they’ve slowly been rebuilding her strength. She was cleared by the vet before we began massage, so we could safely start supporting the stifle through bodywork.
And already, in just two weeks, we’re seeing changes that honestly make me so happy.
The clicking in her stifle has dramatically decreased. It now only happens occasionally, mostly when she moves faster, and while the limb still isn’t gliding as smoothly as we’d like just yet, the improvement from where she started is huge.
Through massage, stretches during treatment, and strengthening exercises I’ve given her owner to continue between sessions, we’re working together to support her recovery. Combined with the nutritional support she’s receiving, this is truly a whole horse approach.
Seeing even these early improvements honestly means so much. There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching a horse start to move more comfortably in their body.
We’ll keep focusing on helping her build healthy weight, strengthen the muscles that support the stifle, and reduce tension so the limb can glide more smoothly again.
For now, we celebrate the small wins.
And this one feels like a really special step forward. 🐎✨
