✨ What a weekend for MIE! ✨

🤸‍♀️ Gymnastics wrapped up the year with their annual display routine — wowing the crowd and showcasing all the incredible skills they’ve learned throughout 2025! Such an amazing effort from every athlete.

🏃‍♂️ Athletics finished the season hosting our Intra-Club Games! It was a fast-paced day on the track with lots of new faces, plenty of PBs, and even bigger smiles. The energy was unbeatable!

What a way to end the year — so proud of all our athletes! 💛🖤

Happy International Volunteer Day!

Today on International Volunteer Day, we celebrate the driving force behind the Special Olympics Melbourne Inner East movement: our volunteers.

These dedicated people are the essential backbone of our program. They show up and they ensure our athletes have the best possible environment to train, compete, and succeed.

We recently had our Committee end-of-year catch-up and thank you dinner (captured here). It was a chance to recognise the fantastic work that keeps the whole operation running smoothly.

Cheers to the volunteers for all they do! We appreciate the powerful dedication they bring to the world of inclusive sport.

This year’s theme “Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress” is a reminder that real progress happens when everyone has the chance to participate.

At Special Olympics Melbourne Inner East, we see this in action every day. Our athletes inspire and show us what’s possible when communities celebrate every person’s unique abilities.
