Community sport is a powerful platform for preventative health.

We were proud to support Coburg District Football Club alongside Essity , RecoveryLab Pascoe Vale and True Protein at their recent training night… bringing evidence-based recovery, compression therapy insights and performance nutrition education directly to athletes and families.

Improving health outcomes starts with improving health literacy.

When we take clinically grounded advice into local football clubs, discussing injury prevention, muscle recovery, compression science and protein requirements, we shift from reactive care to proactive health.

Health does not begin in hospitals. It begins in communities.

This morning I attended the International Women’s Day Breakfast hosted by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia (Victoria) and Attain Business Brokers.

Thank you to Arrotex Pharmaceuticals and Hayley Tamborini for the invitation and for continuing to support leadership conversations within our profession.

We also heard from Mary-Anne Thomas MP, Victorian Minister for Health, and Amy Amos from Wesfarmers, who both spoke about leadership, responsibility, and the evolving landscape of healthcare and business in Victoria.

The panel, expertly facilitated by Rachel Obradovic from the Pharmacy Guild, brought together Kristina Fox, Perry McCarthy and Natalie Sirianni to explore what it truly takes for women in pharmacy to step into ownership and lead sustainable, scalable businesses.

One message resonated strongly:
You cannot grow a pharmacy if you are trapped inside it.

Ownership requires the courage to delegate, the discipline to build systems, and the maturity to develop teams who can operate confidently without constant oversight.

Pharmacy is a profession powered largely by women. Yet ownership and decision-making influence still require intentional development, commercial confidence and strong networks.

This is exactly why we created .in.pharmacy

Not as a movement — but as a structured platform to build leadership capability, ownership literacy, mentoring pathways and commercial confidence across the profession.

When we invest in leadership development, we strengthen the entire ecosystem.

Puberty brings hormonal fluctuations, muscle tension, mood changes and period discomfort.

Magnesium plays a critical role in muscle relaxation, stress regulation and menstrual comfort, yet many adolescent girls are deficient.

Evidence-based support matters. Especially during growth years.

Parents give advice. Kids provide the evidence. 😭

In Australia, around 750–800 children under 15 are diagnosed with cancer each year, and when older teenagers are included, close to 1,000 families annually face a diagnosis that changes everything overnight.

Beyond treatment, the impact on families is profound. Parents often reduce work hours or stop working entirely. Travel, accommodation, medications, and ongoing care create significant financial pressure, at a time when emotional reserves are already stretched.

Last week, My children and I were honoured to attend the Vision & Impact Event for Children’s Cancer Charity at

As a pharmacist, I see how serious illness affects the whole family, not just the patient. Healthcare extends beyond clinical care. It includes stability, dignity and community support.

What stands out about My Room is their commitment to both funding research and providing practical support to families when they need it most.

Thank you OAM and Maurizio Marcocci for your leadership.
And thank you to for sharing your story with such courage and clarity, a reminder of why this work matters. And thank you for hosting the evening with authenticity. When lived experience meets advocacy, it changes the room.

Supporting organisations like My Room isn’t separate from healthcare, it’s part of it.

You don’t “find” time.
You decide what matters.

There were years I worked seven days a week.
Times I trained before sunrise because it was the only quiet hour I had.
Moments where I had to walk away from environments that didn’t respect the phase of life I was in.

Nothing about this happened by accident.

My kids grew up in pharmacy aisles.
They’ve seen the long days. The hard conversations. The rebuilds.
They’ve also seen discipline, standards and purpose.

If it’s not in my calendar, it doesn’t exist.
If it drains my energy, it’s a no.
If it matters, it becomes non-negotiable.

Balance isn’t luck.
It’s boundaries.

Your gut isn’t just about digestion 🧠
It influences mood, immunity, skin and overall health.
Not all probiotics are the same, strains matter.

You can’t “reset” your nervous system.

But you can regulate it.

Most people think they’re anxious, burnt out, or overwhelmed because something is wrong with them.

Often, their body has just been in stress mode for too long.

Before you book the retreat or blame your hormones, start with basics:
• Sleep
• Movement
• Protein
• Breath
• Boundaries

Small daily habits calm the body more than dramatic life changes.

Your nervous system doesn’t need a holiday.
It needs safety.

Weekend update:
Spent it in combat with a fly.
It now owns the house.

Send reinforcements.

Fasting during Ramadan isn’t just spiritual, it’s physiological.

When done safely, intermittent fasting can:
• Improve insulin sensitivity
• Support fat metabolism
• Reduce inflammation
• Activate autophagy (cellular clean-up)
• Give the gut a rest

But fasting is NOT for everyone. Children, pregnant women, people with diabetes, or those with medical conditions should always seek professional advice first.

Fasting is powerful when done intentionally and safely.
