HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY!

Here's to all the extraordinary women in our lives! You are amazing! Heck! Not just today but Every. Damn. Day!

"i want to apologise to all the women
i have called pretty
before i've called them intelligent or brave
i am sorry i made it sound as though
something as simple as what you're born with
is the most you have to be proud of when your
spirit has crushed mountains
from now on i will say things like
𝘺𝘰𝘢 𝘒𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴π˜ͺ𝘭π˜ͺ𝘦𝘯𝘡 𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘢 𝘒𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘡𝘳𝘒𝘰𝘳π˜₯π˜ͺ𝘯𝘒𝘳𝘺
not because i don't think you're pretty
but because you are so much more than that"

Jingeri Jimbelung! The 26th is NOT the date to celebrate!

Today and everyday, I would like to acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which I live and work, the Yugambeh people of the Bundjalung nation.

I pay my respect to the Elders, past, present as the holders of the memories, the traditions, the culture and the spiritual wellbeing of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the nation.
And further acknowledge the living culture and unique role that Indigenous Australians contribute to this region.

First Nations People are this land’s first traditional healers and for that I give deep thanks.

Always was, always will be.

a wish for the new year

because i cannot wish anyone a year where nothing hard happens, i wish you a year where you meet what is hard with softness. where you know softness is an impeccable strength. i wish you a heart like a neon sign that blinks: OPEN 24 HOURS. i wish you an advent calendar of a year - behind the door of each day: a small gift, a surprise sweetness, an unexpected bliss. i wish you a life like a crowbar, prying your chest open, letting more love in.

Happy holidays! Thank you for supporting me and my small business this year! I appreciate it SO much!

It truly is my greatest joy to be able to support all of YOU in achieving better health, naturally!

While I'm sure a lot of you are gearing up for a day spent with family and friends, opening presents, eating and drinking until your hearts are content, there are some in our community who find this time more difficult to navigate.

This Christmas period, I'm thinking of those who are still on their fertility journey and are enduring another Christmas without baby.

I'm thinking of those who've lost their precious bubs during the year and are reminded of their loss during a time of such joy. I'm thinking of everyone who has lost anyone and is missing them deeply.

I'm thinking of those who are struggling financially to keep up with the pressures of life, let alone the pressure of financing Christmas cheer. Please know that memories made are priceless and much more valuable than anything you can put under the Christmas tree!

I'm thinking of those who are struggling to get home or those without a home to get to! Those estranged from their families and spending this time alone!

I'm thinking of those enduring famine,Β  genocide, and an attack on their human rights all across our mother earth!

To everyone who is having a hard time through the holidays whilst surrounded by Christmas cheer! Be gentle with yourselves! Rest, reach out. You are more supported than you might realise.

Thanks again so much for your support this year! See you in 2025!

October is breast cancer awareness month, and so many of us (myself included) have had our lives impacted by breast cancer! Whether it's your own diagnosis or that of a loved one, it can turn your world upside down!

It is estimated over 20,000 Australians will be diagnosed this year alone! That's 55 people every day!

If you feel called to donate, head to the NBCF wesbite. Proceeds go to helping support those diagnosed and work towards NBCF's goal of zero deaths by 2030! I can get on board with that!

One way to achieve this goal is early identification! SO, with that said, let's talk about self-examination!

Everyone’s breasts look and feel different! You may have lumpy breasts, one breast larger than the other, breasts that are different shapes, or one or both ni***es that are pulled in or inverted! ALL breasts are beautiful, though becoming familiar with the normal look and feel of your breasts is important. Get to know your breasts so that if changes occur, you'll notice sooner rather than later!

There’s no right or wrong way to check your breasts for any changes, but do try to get used to looking at and feeling your breasts regularly. You can do this in the bath or shower, when you use body lotion, or when you get dressed. Just decide what you are comfortable with and what suits you best!

Remember to check all parts of your breasts, and don't forget to feel your armpits and all the way up to your collarbones. When you check your breasts, try to be aware of any changes that are different for YOU!

β€œI felt a lump,” is a common phrase for those who have had a breast cancer diagnosis, but there are many other warning signs to watch for, including

β™‘ swelling of part of your breast
β™‘ irritation or dimpling of your breast skin
β™‘ redness or flaky skin in your ni**le area
β™‘ pulling in of your ni**le or ni**le pain
β™‘ ni**le discharge other than breast milk
β™‘ changes in the size or shape of your breast
β™‘ pain in any area of your breast

Don’t delay! Most breast changes are not likely to be breast cancer! But to be on the safe side, if you find a change in your breast that’s unusual for you, see your GP!

Today is World Mental Health Day! This year's theme is 'it is time to prioritize mental health in the workplace', and I could not agree more!

Metal health struggles are something that I see a LOT of in the clinic, and it is on the rise! More often than not, I see clients' struggles with mental health stem from feeling unsupported in their workplace.

Mental health issues, including but not limited to anxiety and depression, affect millions of people around the world. According to statistics, it is likely that 1 in 4 people will experience some form of mental health issue during their lifetime and many, many more will see friends or family members who are affected.

Yet, even though mental health is so prevalent, it is one of the most neglected forms of health. We've come a long way in efforts to de-stigmatise mental health problems, but we still have a long way to go. That's why a day such as today is so important!

Many people are embarrassed to reach out or still do not have access to the care that they need! Getting help has become increasingly difficult with the cost of living crisis plus overbooked and understaffed services. Prioritising mental health support in the workplace can help take take the load off these services and support workers' health and well-being and create better work-life balance for all!

Embrace the renewal of spring with Chinese medicine!!

Spring has officially sprung! As the world awakens from its winter slumber, let me invite you to dive into the wisdom of Chinese medicine and discover how to harmonize your incredible body with the season of rebirth!

Spring, the season of the wood element! It is all about growth, flexibility, and renewal. Just like the blossoming flowers and budding trees, our bodies are also experiencing a natural transformation during this season. Change is in the air! Can you feel it?

In traditional Chinese medicine theory, the liver and gallbladder are the organs attributed to the wood element and to spring. They help us adapt to the changing environment, just as the fresh spring breeze carries away the stagnation of winter! The liver is especially prone to stagnation and is happiest when there is a healthy, smooth flow of Qi!

Here are some tips and tricks to help you align with the energy of spring!

🌻 Nourish your liver - Include leafy greens, sour foods like lemon, and foods rich in chlorophyll to support this vital organ πŸ‹πŸ₯¬

🌸 Stretch and move - Engage in gentle exercises like Tai Chi or yoga to promote flexibility and prevent stagnation πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

🌼 Do a spring clean - Declutter your surroundings and practice mindfulness to clear emotional blockages

🌷 Acupuncture and herbs (of course!) πŸ˜‚ - Consider traditional Chinese medicine to balance your Qi and enhance your vitality 🌿

🌻 Balance your emotions - The wood element is connected to anger and frustration 🀬 Practice forgiveness and meditation to maintain emotional harmony 😊

Let's welcome this spring season of growth with open arms and harmonize our bodies with the flow of nature.

Peace, love and ALL of the healing vibes flowing your way always.x

I am so, so happy to announce that community acucupunture is finally back!! I loved providing this service back in 2023 and have been called to bring it back for SO long now - it's only taken me 9 months to get my sh*t together! πŸ˜‚ Does anyone else feel this year has flown by?

I've released just a few dates before the end of this year to see how it goes with the intention to hold it every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month in 2025.

What does a community acupuncture session look like? Well! I'll tell you!

Community acupuncture is a wonderful way to receive the benefits of acupuncture in a group setting. Perfect for those interested in trying acupuncture before committing to a one on one consult or those requiring more consistency in their treatments at a lower price point.

Grab your yoga mat, a comfy pillow, and bolster and find your sacred space in our event space
Mudgeeraba (all props supplied).

I will ask you a few questions and read your pulse and tongue before you ease into your acupuncture treatment. Enjoy some complimentary herbal tea and get to know your community before or after your session. Sessions will run for 1 hour with approximately 30-40 minutes of relaxation.

These spaces are open to all adults to receive (children and babies are welcome to attend with you but will not be treated during this time - it's best to have a one on one with your little love so I may be able to provide more individualised care and education to parents)

EXCHANGE - $33 per adult (includes booking fee)

Upcoming dates are

πŸ’œ Saturday 12th October 11AM - 12PM

πŸ’œ Saturday 9th November 1PM - 2PM

πŸ’œ Saturday 30th November 1PM - 2PM

πŸ’œ Saturday 14th December 11AM - 12PM

Haven't had acupuncture before and unsure what I can support you with? I'm working on a little menu to help you - keep your eyes peeled!

Bookings are through humantix - I'll link this in my bio and on stories shortly!! Can't wait to see you there!!

Peace, joy and ALL of the healing vibes flowing your way always.x β™‘ Rachel

Are you suffering from comparison-itis? Me too!

We must live up to our own expectations of ourselves and not those placed on us by others outside of our personal experience! It's difficult in this day and age to not succumb to comparisonitis and feel we are not meeting certain societal beliefs of what makes us worthy of success and happiness!

I have most definitely been there myself - as much as I would like to think I am.. I am not immune to the thief of joy that is comparing my perceived achievements or failures to those around me! But awareness is key! Once I am aware, I take steps to come back to my centre, take responsibility, and shift my perspective!

These steps include things like taking a few deep breaths, closing down the apps and tabs, spending time in nature, drinking tea with intention, and stretching! Is there something that you do to relieve the overwhelming pressure of expectation? I would love to know!

Fritz Perls was a psychiatrist who developed Gestalt therapy, a therapy that puts emphasis on an individual's experience in the present moment and the personal responsibility we all have to self-regulate and make changes to our situation. We can all change the way we perceive something when we are in the present moment! What a gift!

Peace love and ALL of the healing vibes flowing your way! β™‘ Rach

This week is world breastfeeding week!
Let us celebrate the incredible journey of motherhood and the many ways we nourish and nurture our little ones.

I'm here to support and honour all mothersβ€”whether you are breastfeeding, exclusively pumping, or formula feeding.

Breastfeeding is a beautiful way to provide for our babies, but it's also important to recognize that every family's path is unique. To the moms who breastfeed, to the exclusively pumping moms and to the formula-feeding moms, your commitment, dedication, and perseverance are inspiring. No matter how you feed your little love, your love and care are just as powerful and nurturing!

At the heart of it all, feeding our babies is about love, health, and connection. Let's celebrate the different ways we nourish our children and support one another on this remarkable journey.

In Chinese medicine, breastmilk is considered an extension of the blood, and so it is incredibly important to nourish our post partum mothers to ensure their blood is abundant, healthy, and vital! We can support this with acupuncture and herbs and focusing on warm, cooked, easily digestible, blood building foods!

If you ever need support, advice, or simply a listening ear, remember that you are not alone. Reach out, share your story, and know that your efforts are seen and SO appreciated!
