Data is not always exciting, but it does tell a story.

This month, our community found balance — equal parts conversation and movement. Time spent talking, connecting, and supporting each other, alongside time spent getting outside and moving together.

Both matter. Both make a difference.

How have you been finding your balance lately?

International Women's Day is a day for reflection, celebration and intention setting.

Jane Sylvia McLaren attended an inspiring event hosted by Mayoress Ali Raven bringing together inspirational women from across Logan to share their successes their challenges and their dreams for the future.

We all shared a vision for a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that is diverse equitable and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.

Together we can forge equality.

Movement as Medicine: Building Mental Resilience Through Community

Mental health is often discussed in terms of therapy, medication, or personal coping strategies. While these supports are important, another powerful element is sometimes overlooked — movement.

Physical activity can play a major role in supporting emotional wellbeing, reducing stress, and helping people process difficult experiences. At Forge & Anchor Alliance, we combine movement with community support to help individuals build resilience and reconnect with themselves.

Our approach includes:

Yoga – helping regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and reconnect with the body.
Boxing – building discipline, focus, and confidence while providing a healthy outlet for energy and emotion.
Self-defence – developing awareness, boundaries, and personal empowerment.

But the most powerful part of this journey is community.

Training in a supportive environment allows people to encourage one another, celebrate progress, and build meaningful connections. For those who have experienced isolation or stress, that sense of belonging can be transformative.

At Forge & Anchor Alliance, we believe resilience grows when people move, learn, and support each other.

Together we can build stronger individuals and stronger communities.

Mental health recovery isn’t something anyone should have to face alone. At Forge & Anchor Alliance, we believe that strength is built through community, movement, and support.
Our approach combines practices like yoga, boxing, and self-defence with trauma-informed resilience training. Each of these tools helps people reconnect with their bodies, build confidence, and develop practical skills for managing stress and adversity.

Yoga helps calm the nervous system and restore balance.
Boxing builds confidence, discipline, and controlled power.
Self-defence teaches awareness, boundaries, and personal safety.

But the most powerful part of the journey is connection.
When people train together, learn together, and support each other, something powerful happens. Isolation begins to fade. Confidence grows. People realise they are stronger than they thought.

Forge & Anchor Alliance is about creating a network where people feel supported as they develop both mental and physical resilience.
Because strength is forged through challenge — and stability comes from having something solid to anchor to.

If you're passionate about mental health, resilience, and building stronger communities, we invite you to be part of the journey.
