Congratulations to our St Michael ward who were the recent winners of the Heart of Murdoch: Team Excellence Award! 🏆❤️⭐

The award was paid forward by our Finance team, who said the following:

“First and foremost, this ward gives first class, warm and compassionate care. They deal beautifully with our Charity of the Year patients, and like every school holiday, a rush is about to hit them once schools out... and Christmas is coming, so what more appropriate time to give it to the kiddies! The thoroughly deserving winners of the Heart of Murdoch this month is St Michael ward.” 🤝

Our upcoming Light up the Lake with Love remembrance service includes live music by string quartet Aquila, a memorial tree, the symbolic lighting of our lake and trees, and the opportunity to purchase a special keepsake memorial candle.

We understand that the festive season can be difficult for those who have lost loved ones, and we offer you and your family a safe and inclusive space to reflect, share cherished memories, and find solace during this time.

Please join us on Sunday 7 December, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm, in our marquee by the Lake, for this special evening.

Steph is one of our recent Caregivers of the Month ⭐

Steph is an Administration Assistant and was nominated by a patient for her kindness and comfort when they were in recovery. "I woke up in a lot of pain after my surgery, and while the nurses were arranging medication, Steph noticed I was there and came over to me. She held my hand and comforted me, making me feel less alone and scared. She saw me as a person and made such an impact that I will never forget the kindness, compassion, respect, and care she showed me in a moment of vulnerability. Thank you, Steph. You are beautiful," they said.

Congratulations, Steph. You are an asset to the Murdoch team! 👏

At 96, Glenda Greaves is proving age is just a number. After a hip replacement at St John of God Murdoch Hospital, she’s back to pruning roses and enjoying life with her dog, Archie.

“They’re the ones behind the scenes, juggling resources like circus performers, responding to urgent requests with the speed of a trauma team, and having the tough conversations that somehow still end with us getting what we need. When we need equipment urgently, they move mountains to find resources. When we ask for data to help manage our departments more efficiently, they don’t just deliver, they refine, improve, and somehow make spreadsheets feel like a gift.
They never say, “too hard.” They say, “how can we help?” And they’ve taken the time to understand the wonderfully complex world of Perioperative Services… which, let’s be honest, is no small feat. Their impact is felt in every theatre, every ward, and every patient outcome… even if you don’t always see them.” 🤝
