We’re looking for a reliable and caring Support Worker to assist a lovely NDIS participant who lives in St Kilda

About the role:
She requires regular support to maintain her independence at home and stay connected with her community.

Tasks may include:
• Personal care and daily living support
• Light household duties
• Meal preparation
• Community access and companionship
• Transport to appointments


Details:
• Located in St Kilda, VIC
• Morning, Afternoon and sleepovers
• Ongoing, consistent work with a warm and supportive family

About you:
• Experienced or qualified in disability or aged care (Cert III/IV or similar)
• Reliable, compassionate, and respectful
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid & CPR, Public Liability Insurance
• Driver’s licence and insured vehicle preferred

Glorious Disability Support Services are expanding our team and we are on the lookout for a talented Administration & Intake Support Officer.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your administrative and disability sector support expertise in this fast paced and key organisational role.

Responsibilities include:
✨Build and maintain relationships with existing NDIS partners and stakeholders.
✨Ability to undertake significant regular travel throughout metro and some region areas of Victoria at times.
✨Present Glorious Disability Support services to multiple NDIS stakeholders to attract new participants
✨Meet individual KPI targets and deliver on team promises
✨Attend and represent Glorious Disability Support Services at stakeholder meetings, networking events and community expos
✨Maintain accurate records of business development activity and interactions with key contacts and stakeholders

To be considered:
✨Proven experience to develop professional relationships that lead to business growth through new clients and client retention
✨Working knowledge of NDIS, passion and drive for the disability sector
✨Ability to prioritise, organise and complete work within established deadlines
✨Initiative and a demonstrated "can do" attitude
✨Current National Police Check (essential)
✨Current driver’s license (essential)
✨Current Working With Children and NDIS check (essential)

Summary:
- limitations on WHO can access respite : this is significant!
- activities are not funded
- 1:1 in a hotel is allowed again, but meals won’t be covered
- a few minor changes to wording

Short term accommodation is now called short term respite.

We spoke with participants, families and carers about this change. Most told us that short term respite better reflects the value of informal supports and the importance of sustaining these relationships.

We know some people have concerns about the word ‘respite’, but many carers and families use and understand it well. After considering all the feedback, we chose this name because it’s clear and widely recognised.

Short term respite gives you time away from your usual care arrangements, while your primary informal supports take a short break.

We’ve updated Our Guideline to make it easier for you to understand and use. It explains:

✅ how it works

✅ where it can be used.
