The WA Stolen Generations Redress Scheme will provide a payment of $85,000 to eligible Aboriginal people who were removed from their families as children in Western Australia before 1 July 1972, in recognition of the harm and trauma caused.
What happens next?
The WA Government is working towards the opening of the Redress Scheme. Full details of the scheme are currently being developed.
The opening of the scheme is planned for later in 2025.

β’ You do not need to pay a support service to help you apply.
β’ Nobody should be asking for a fee or a percentage of any future payment.
You might be at risk if:
β’ You get unexpected calls, texts, or emails about making a claim
β’ Someone pressures you to sign papers or sign up with a law firm.
Protect yourself
β’ Donβt share your personal details with people you donβt know
β’ Contact the Department of the Premier and Cabinet if youβre unsure, want to ask for help, or to report suspicious activity.
β’ Raise with family or speak with someone you trust.
