What’s really driving your painful periods?
Painful periods are often dismissed as “normal”… but they’re actually a sign that something deeper is going on.
Here are some of the most common underlying drivers:
• Inflammation
Inflammation increases prostaglandins, the chemicals responsible for uterine contractions and pain. The higher the inflammation, the more intense the cramps :(
• Oestrogen dominance
When oestrogen is too high relative to progesterone, it can lead to heavier, more painful periods, breast tenderness, and mood changes.
• Endometriosis
A condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, often causing severe pain, inflammation, and sometimes fertility challenges.
• Gut dysbiosis
Your gut plays a key role in hormone balance. An imbalanced microbiome can impair oestrogen detoxification, contributing to hormone-driven pain and inflammation.
Painful periods are common… but they are not something you should have to live with every month.
When we address the root cause, not just the symptoms, with nutritional, lifestyle and herbal remedies, we see measurable changes ✨
