The Great Outdoors 🌿

Robert and Harry hit the trails at Glenrock for an adventure-filled afternoon! From spotting a sunbaking goanna and gliding eel to watching water monitors and bush turkeys in action, every step brought something new. They soaked it all in — especially the stunning views at Burwood Beach — with plenty of well-earned rest stops along the way.

Community access is more than just getting out — it’s about building confidence, staying active, and creating moments that matter. What a fantastic day out, Robert and Harry! 👏

🌟 Networking & Community Connections 🌟

Last Thursday, some of our management team had the pleasure of attending a fantastic networking event hosted by Able Plus — thank you for bringing local services together and creating such a great space to connect!

The event was a wonderful opportunity to showcase Hunter Community Inclusion’s support services and to meet other incredible providers delivering valuable services across our community. We’re proud to collaborate, learn, and grow alongside organisations that are equally passionate about supporting people to live their best lives.

🐎 Belated Birthday Wishes, Steven! 🐎

A few weeks ago, Steven had an amazing time celebrating his birthday at the Newcastle Races with his family and support worker Sandy. From the buzz of race day to placing a few bets and cheering on the horses, it was a day filled with excitement, laughs, and great company. 🏇✨

Steven loved spending quality time with his family and enjoying something he’s truly passionate about. Happy belated birthday, Steven — we hope it was a fantastic day doing what you love most! 🎂🥳

School Holidays = Adventure Mode ON! 🙌🏽

The boys had an epic day out exploring Sydney! They kicked things off at Culture Kings 🧢, got up close with the legends at Madame Tussauds 🤩, and wrapped it up marveling at the creatures of the deep in the Aquarium 🦈🪼.

A LOT of steps later 👟, some train rides 🚆, and of course a well-earned Starbucks pit stop ☕️, they ticked off some holiday goals and created memories that will last way longer than their steps on the pedometer.

🌱Growing Joy in the Garden!🌱

Mick has been thriving while looking after his very own veggie and herb garden at his SIL home. He absolutely loves spending time outdoors, carefully tending to his plants and watching them flourish and grow.
Every day, Mick can be found sitting outside, patiently checking his garden and eagerly waiting for the next strawberry to bloom. 🍓

When the fruit is ready, he proudly shares his fresh produce with his support team!
Gardening has become a meaningful and joyful part of Mick’s routine, giving him a sense of purpose, pride, and connection to his home. Watching his garden grow is just one of the many ways Mick continues to achieve his goals!

Even on the lazier days, Mick is right on top of things—making sure to tell his support team exactly which plants need watering so his garden continues to thrive 🌱💧

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our HCI Participant Christmas Party — it was wonderful to come together and celebrate the year that was.

Being part of our participants’ journeys is a true privilege. We are continually inspired by their dedication, growth, and determination as they work towards achieving their goals. Sharing these milestones together makes our community so special, and we look forward to another year filled with connection, progress, and celebration. 🎄✨

Thank you to PCYC Maitland for providing a wet weather space at the last minute — your support ensured the day could go ahead and is greatly appreciated.
