What a fantastic day out for our Nextcares Community Group! ☀️

We spent the day building independence through travel training, hopping on the tram and then catching the ferry across to Stockton for lunch. The sun was shining, spirits were high, and there were smiles all round.

This outing was not only a big win for our participants as we explored our great city with confidence, but it was also wonderful to see our staff kicking goals and stepping outside their comfort zones by trying things they hadn’t done before.

Meet Sequoia, our newest Support Coordinator. With four years experience in the NDIS and a strong focus on psychosocial disabilities, Sequoia brings a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to her work. Starting as a mental health and disability support worker, she transitioned into Support Coordination after completing her Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) at the University of Newcastle in 2024.
She is passionate about building safe, trusting relationships where people feel genuinely heard, respected, and empowered ✨
