A lot of people don’t seek support because they think they have to be in crisis first.

Like it has to be “bad enough.”
Like they need a dramatic reason.

But most of the time, it’s not one big event.
It’s the slow build-up.
The tension in your body.
The constant overthinking.
The feeling of being stretched thin.

Support doesn’t have to be about repairing damage.
It can be about strengthening your capacity.

Learning your patterns.
Understanding your nervous system.
Building tools before life gets heavy.

Because life will get heavy at some point. That’s part of being human.

The question isn’t “Is it bad enough?”
The question is — do you want to feel more steady, more supported, and more prepared?

You’re allowed to choose support before survival mode kicks in.

Let me know what you think in the comments 🤍

One of the main areas I specialise in — and genuinely love — is supporting neurodivergent individuals through education, self awareness and practical, personalised skills.

Much of this work isn’t about “fixing” anyone.
It’s about understanding how your brain works and why you’ve developed the patterns you have.

Masking.
Burnout.
Sensory overload.
Overthinking.
People-pleasing.

When we put language to these experiences, they stop feeling like personal flaws and start making sense. And when things make sense, there’s often relief.

As someone with lived experience of neurodivergence, I bring both professional knowledge and personal understanding into the room. I focus on helping individuals build insight, adapt strategies to suit them, and work with their nervous system — not against it.

You don’t need to change who you are.
You need tools that fit who you are.

Understanding yourself changes everything. 🧠🌿

Most people don’t have “anxiety problems.”
They have nervous systems that don’t feel safe.

Quick regulation reset you can try today:

• Put both feet flat on the floor
• Press your toes down firmly
• Take one slow inhale
• Exhale longer than you inhale

Longer exhales signal safety to the body.

Regulation first. Insight second 🤍

Why did I open my practice? Through my experience working in mental health and support services —alongside navigating the system personally I saw how complex recovery truly is. I recognised that while many services focus on symptom management, long-term change often requires something deeper: nervous system regulation, practical tools, and support that feels genuinely understood. I created my practice to complement existing services — not replace them. My approach integrates: • Trauma-informed principles. • Nervous system regulation. • Frontline mental health experience. • Lived experience insight. • Practical, real-world strategies. Because sustainable recovery happens when people feel safe, equipped, and empowered not just assessed. If you’re looking for support that feels human, grounded, and practical- I’m here to help. Send me a email on kisaac@micnewcastle.com to explore how I can support you, or book an initial consultation through the link in my bio to discuss your options. 😊

Hi, I’m Kristy 👋🏼
I’m a Trauma & Wellness Practitioner currently offering support at the Movement Improvement Clinic (MIC).

I work with individuals, parents, and carers of all ages, including people with complex and layered needs. My work is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and especially supportive of autistic and ADHD individuals across the lifespan.

My approach is practical, human, and personalised — not a one-size-fits-all model. Support is shaped around you: your nervous system, your capacity, and your real life.

Support may include:
• talk-based therapeutic support
• practical tools and psychoeducation
• support for parents and carers
• emotional regulation, identity and relationship support
• psychosocial recovery coaching
• support coordination
• individualised support tailored to the person, not a template

Alongside talk-based sessions, I also offer optional somatic yoga and expressive, art-based sessions. These can support emotional processing, nervous system regulation, and expression when words are hard — always guided by what feels right for you on the day.

I’m currently accepting NDIS self-managed and plan-managed participants, as well as private clients.

Availability is beginning to fill, so I recommend securing a regular time if consistency is important to you. Current availability (subject to change as bookings confirm):

Monday: 1:30pm – 6:00pm
Tuesday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
Thursday: 12:30pm – 4:30pm
Friday: 3:00pm – 6:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 10:00am or 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am – 2:00pm (groups available)

Please note I’ll be unavailable from the 6th–8th. Availability resumes outside of these dates.

I also offer telehealth sessions Australia-wide and understand that work, caring responsibilities, energy levels, and life don’t always fit neatly into standard schedules.

If you’d like to know more or see whether this support feels like the right fit, you’re welcome to email me directly at kisaac@micnewcastle.com or visit the link below to learn more and enquire. I’m always happy to talk things through.

If you’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t feel like the right fit,
that experience matters.

Many people come to support carrying mixed feelings — uncertainty, hesitation, or past experiences where the approach didn’t quite align.
Trauma-informed care recognises that healing is not one-size-fits-all, and that feeling safe, respected, and understood is foundational.

An initial consult with me is gentle and collaborative.
We take time to explore what you’re hoping for, what you’ve found helpful (or unhelpful) in the past, and how you’d like support to feel moving forward.

I’ll walk you through the different ways I work — which may include conversation, reflective support, grounding or somatic practices — and together we decide what feels most appropriate for you. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready for, and no expectation to fit into a particular “therapy style.”

My role is not to direct or diagnose your experience, but to support you in a way that feels clear, respectful, and tailored to you.

Einstein’s insights remind me that imagination, curiosity, and learning through challenge are central to growth. I integrate these values into my work, encouraging curiosity and personal expansion along each person’s unique journey.

For a long time, I was told what I couldn’t do. I internalised limits that weren’t truly mine. It wasn’t until I stopped carrying other people’s beliefs and began trusting my own that things shifted. Imagination opened pathways I couldn’t yet “know” how to reach — and growth followed.

This is the space I hold in my work: where curiosity comes before certainty, and possibility is allowed to emerge. 🤍

Intentional shoulder mobility in grounded positions can help release held tension and support the nervous system.

The shoulders are a common place we hold stress, protection, and responsibility. Moving through range with control and awareness allows the body to soften without forcing or pushing.

Movement doesn’t need to be intense to be effective. Creating space, connection, and support in the body often starts with simple, grounded work. 🧘🏼‍♀️🙆‍♀️ 💞

This milestone means a great deal to me. 🤍

I come into this next chapter with multiple qualifications across mental health, disability, and behavioural support, alongside years of hands-on experience supporting people with complex needs. This work has never been new to me — it’s always been my passion and my practice.

As a neurodivergent person, my early education didn’t reflect my capability. I wasn’t unsupported because I lacked ability — I lacked access and appropriate accommodations.

With the right supports in place, I applied for university, sat the entry exam, and passed with 100%.

I’m proud to share that I’ve been accepted into the Bachelor of Counselling at Torrens University.

This degree will formalise and further strengthen the therapeutic and counselling work I already deliver within Movement Improvement Clinic, support clinical depth, and open additional professional pathways over time, including Medicare-aligned options where applicable.

I’m deeply grateful for this step — not just for what it means professionally, but for how it allows me to show up with even greater care, understanding, and compassion for the people I support, grounded in both lived experience and practice.
