Taking a moment to slow down and truly connect with the present ✨ Mindfulness is all about being in the here and now, and today I’m embracing these simple practices to find peace and joy in the little things:

1️⃣ Take a deep breath 🌿 – Pausing for a few deep breaths helps calm my mind and center my thoughts, bringing me back to the present moment. It’s amazing what a few mindful breaths can do!

2️⃣ Eat mindfully 🍽️ – I’m taking the time to appreciate each bite, savoring the flavors, textures, and smells of my food. It’s all about slowing down and truly enjoying the experience instead of rushing through it.

3️⃣ Practice gratitude 💖 – Reflecting on what I’m grateful for today, whether big or small, helps me shift my focus to the positive. Gratitude is a powerful way to bring more happiness and contentment into my life.

Let’s take a step back, breathe deeply, and embrace the little moments that bring us joy 🙏✨

🌟 What Are ADHD and AUHD?

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.

AUHD (Autistic ADHD) is a term used to describe individuals who exhibit symptoms of both ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), often leading to unique challenges and strengths.

Common Symptoms of ADHD:
• Difficulty sustaining attention and focus
• Frequent forgetfulness or disorganization
• Impulsivity and difficulty sitting still

Common Symptoms of AUHD:
• Challenges with both attention and hyperactivity
• Sensory sensitivities and social interaction difficulties
• Need for routines and structured environments

How We Can Help?

1. Occupational Therapy: Our OT's help develop coping strategies for managing attention and sensory sensitivities. We work on organisational skills and daily living tasks to improve overall functionality.

2. Physiotherapy: We offer support in improving motor skills and coordination. Tailored exercises can enhance physical control & focus.

3. Exercise Physiology: We programs that promote physical health, manage symptoms, improve concentration & energy levels.

4. Sensory Room: We have a calming space to help manage sensory overload and stress.

5. Group Therapy & Support Classes: We offer group classes tailored to various needs.

Christmas party = laser tag 🔫🎄
We even had a laser tag pro do the pre-game instruction…
which made us feel VERY confident for about 12 seconds.

Then it was:
✅ accidental friendly fire
✅ surprise attacks from Admin
✅ Physios moving like it was the Olympics
✅ OTs with strategy
✅ Speechies/EPs just trying to survive (allegedly) 😅

(Belated) Merry Christmas from your favourite allied health chaos crew 🌴

Dear Social Media,

I didn’t ghost you. I got trapped in SharePoint. 🫣

I went in to “build a few pages”… and emerged months later with:
✅ 47 tabs open
✅ a new HR personality
✅ 3 kids worth of school holidays completed
✅ Christmas + New Year + my birthday somehow survived
✅ and a very fun team who still likes each other 😅

So yes — it’s been less Mindfulness Monday and more… Manic Months.
As in: I didn’t just forget to post on Mondays… I forgot to post for months 🙃

We’re back now 🌴
Swipe for the wholesome proof-of-life photos 💚 (and evidence we do leave the clinic sometimes).

Over the next few days, I’ll be playing catch-up with some team highlights 👀✨
