Team

As you may know, I have been honoured to be nominated for one of the awards. Very flattered and humbled - as I have been for most of the last 12 months to be honest. The support from patients, their families and my own family, friends and colleagues has been overwhelming and not what I was expecting.
Supporting this organisation which recognises the unique challenges women may face and recognising those in the community - both women and men - who support all within our community, is so important. They give top our community and it is great to support them back.

Every woman in this region is writing a story.

Some are in chapters of rebuilding.
Some are in chapters of courage.
Some are quietly beginning again.

The JSP Women’s Awards exists to say:

Your story matters.
Not when it’s perfect.
Not when it’s finished.
Now.

On March 14, we gather to honour the women who inspire us to keep going.

If you’ve ever needed a reminder that your chapter counts — this night is for you.

Final week of ticket sales. Tickets close March 4.
Tickets are $115, includes drink on arrival, 7-course canapes, keynote storyteller best selling author Belinda Alexandra and a night of storytelling.

There is vastly more I could say, and did say. You all know my ethics on this issue, and other related issues. DVA is trying to clamp down on those companies that are engaging in fraudulent behaviours - and those using nurses and very junior Doctors to prescribe enough flower to make Holland look tame! Least those who see me know I may need assistance with time management, but there is NEVER a question about ethics.

Team PLEASE be wary of who you give your data to. When you're signing up for a free gym bag or medication roll, even a free raffle ticket for a cause or to salute another, and you have to give your name, DVA details and contact details - be wary as you're likely being data mined and now on a list somewhere...... expect cold calls offering all sorts after that..... data has monetary value to some shall we say - especially those who have multiple tentacles from their octopus head company with the same three names appearing as directors..........

I realise my room is different to most and everything in there is for a reason. Some of the art is beautiful, some is respectful commenoration; and a lot is both!

So I thought I would explain some of it ……

Isn’t this beautiful...It really touched me! The artist has passed away, but the story is amazing. They are his youngest daughters hands and he passes on his knowledge to her through his hands whilst she reaches for the stars of the Southern Cross which is where the spirits of her ancestors reside..... the red leaves also are indicative of rejuvenation of life through fire and new growth.

When I was told of this, I almost burst into tears because I was immediately transported back to one evening when I was deployed in Bougainville. Although I was a Path Tech, I was assisting in a protracted delivery with a local woman. Sadly, in the last few moments, the baby passed away.

I prepared the baby for presentation to his Mum and Dad. Dad placed his hands on his baby’s head, closed his eyes for a moment and then said it would all be alright now. He clearly saw the look of “erm…..” on my face, smiled and said “No you dont understand - I will live to be an old man now because my son died so young for me.” Let’s suggest it was exit stage left for me then. The love and shared compassion was overwhelming.

This painting brings such emotion and love for me.

A good research opportunity and opportunity to improve transition for MANY ADF members for whom the 'strict structure" of the ADF was highly protective and helpful for things such as ADHD, ASD etc ...

Well it's been a bit of a wild, wet and woolly weekend hasn't it? 🌀🌀
If the weather and it's impact means you can't make it to your appointment today (or tomorrow), we can change it to a Telehealth so that you are not missing your health needs😀
If you need this over the next day or two, email us at admin@dockerrysclinic.com.au or call from 0900 on 0402 956 836, or even use the Better Health App if you've downloaded it.
I know my place got quite windy to say the least, and we did a clean up outside to ensure the drains were flowing and there wasn't any flying objects on level 10, and as of last night, the clinic survived with no issues - Hope you have stayed safe and dry over the last few days🌀

A royal commission must be urgently called by the Albanese government or risk creating “the conditions under which extremism takes root and public confidence erodes”, a former SAS commander says.

Well team - Happy New Year and welcome to 2026!! Not so sure about everyone else, but where on earth did 2025 go? SURELY it's just gone July 2025!!!!! Apparently not.....
New Year - New Doc Kerry???? New Years Resolutions???? Well not so much a resolution, but we would love our team; which includes our patients and supports, to help us find a solution rather than a resolution...... We ALL know what the issue is - YES it's time management..... Well just time because at times it seems there is NO management of that time with The Doc at times!!!

SO what can YOU do to help with the solution for the new years resolution to manage the issue of time?

Team - can we please ask you all to forward ALL Advocate; DVA; Centrelink; Employer; WorkCover, any external agency paperwork to admin@dockerrysclinic.com.au before your appointment. If we don't need it, we can delete it, but that is far better than trying to hunt for it on your phone to forward to Doc Kerry in consult. Remember these external agencies do not keep Doc Kerry's Clinic in the communication loop shall we say.

Also, if you have admin/certificates/paperwork that is needed, please let Reception know ASAP and remind them when you arrive and let Doc Kerry know at the beginning of the consult.

We are very determined to try to find a solution to achieve the resolution in 2026, but we really need your help - and ideas! Throw them at us.

As someone who has completed the Kokoda Track; arriving in Kokoda the day before the very first official Fuzzy Wuzzy Angel Day, and being medical myself, this image means a great deal down to my core. We owe a great deal to the people of PNG who assisted us during WWII - and we should never forget that fact.

I thought I might share a few stories this year of the Veterans who have shaped our nation and our identity - and maybe reflect on how that impacts medical care and well-being of our Veterans today.

You all know I'm not much of 'an influencer", but I sure can talk and tell stories!!

Taken on 3 November 1943, this image shows a Papuan using a banana leaf to protect an Australian soldier on a stretcher from the rays of the sun, at a resting point in a forward area in the Upper Ramu Valley advance.
