Kristen Hunter Orange City Council - Wiradjuri Country has played a huge part in Katie’s journey and in helping her get to where she is today 💛

Kristen and Katie first met years ago when Kristen was coordinating a vocational services program.
Kristen saw Katie’s potential straight away and helped kickstart the belief and momentum that Katie really can achieve anything she puts her mind to.

It was through this awesome duo that I met Katie — and that connection is still creating opportunities today.

Through Kristen’s project “Let’s Move Together” — a free program that removes barriers for women and girls of all ages to get involved in sport and physical activity — Katie was able to purchase a brand new pair of runners 👟 so she can attend RPT and take part in other physical activities with confidence. Katie does not remember the last time she ever owned a pair.

Sport and movement are so important for physical and mental health. Programs like Let’s Move Together support ongoing participation by:
• removing barriers,
• addressing discrimination, and
• promoting equality for women and girls in sport and active recreation.

We are so grateful for Kristen, for Orange City Council, and for programs that genuinely change lives for women of all walks of life in our local community. 💛🙌
