Last month, The Hub was very excited to host our friends down the road, Side By Side Advocacy. Thanks to Ryan, Chris and David for running an incredible workshop building our understanding of who advocates are and what they can do.

We learnt about three kinds of advocacy, professional, peer and self advocacy and the roles they can play in our lives.

Some of our team have linked with Side by Side to join their Community for Everyone program, linking up with volunteers to help explore our interests and build relationships in our local community.

🌊☀️ Weekend adventures with Chris!

On Saturday, Chris took a trip down memory lane to Mona Vale Beach — a place that holds many special memories from his childhood on the North Shore. Chris always enjoys being by the water and watching the world go by. 🏖️

The beach fun continued on Sunday with a visit to Coogee Beach. It had been many years since Chris had been there, and the journey through the city sparked some fond memories of days in Hyde Park with his friend Geoff back in the 80s. 💬🕊️

While at Coogee, Chris witnessed a medical emergency, thankfully, help was already on the scene. After all the excitement, he wrapped up the day with some delicious KFC and headed home. 🍗

We love seeing Chris enjoying the places that mean so much to him and revisiting memories that bring him joy. 💙
