This Friday 13th March, we invite you to anchor into your own strength and stillness as we explore the medicine of the mountain. There's nothing more profound than standing before a mountain range, breathing in that crisp, alive air, soaking up those endless views and feeling everything inside you settle into stillness. The mountain holds you in that moment - rugged yet gentle, unapologetic and deeply seeing. You feel truly held and witnessed in your rawness.
In so many cultures, especially the indigenous and shamanic traditions that resonate deeply with me, mountains are living beings. They are steady elders and conscious relatives, radiating unbreakable presence and stability. They mirror the quiet power within us, the force that holds our deepest truths steady through any storm. When we stand tall like them, proud in who we are, life flows around us with ease. The elements dance with us as part of us, weaving us into something vast and alive.
This is the heart of mountain medicine. It gently invites us to embrace our inner mountain, to stand tall, claim our space, own our presence, and let that awe wash over us. And the real journey mirrors climbing our own personal peak. We all begin down in the muddy villages of the mind, circling the same old streets and patterns that keep us small and bound. Then something stirs inside, and we step beyond those familiar gates. The ascent starts - sometimes steep and breath-catching, full of challenges that draw out our self-reliance and call us into deeper presence.
We might not reach the absolute summit of total clarity or unwavering presence every time, and that's perfectly okay. Each step honors the mountain within us. It builds strength, peels away what isn't true, and reveals more of who we really are. When those quiet moments come where we pause and look back down at the village below - the muddy boots, the familiar streets - we see it all with new eyes. It wasn't a trap after all. It was the necessary ground that gave real meaning to the climb. From up here, the bigger picture unfolds: what life truly asks of us, the beauty hidden in the struggle, the quiet power in simply showing up.
This medicine is humble and open to anyone - no grand conquest needed. Just a willingness to feel the pull, take one honest step after another, and approach with an open heart. Offer a little gratitude to the peaks that call you, and let them steady your soul. The views, the stillness, that sense of being ruggedly seen - they're all waiting. Come experience it for yourself. Once you taste that medicine, it lingers. It quietly changes how you carry yourself in the world.
