It's a no-brainer and it boggles my mind why more doctors are not checking women's testosterone levels before prescribing GLP-1 medications (like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Monjaro).

Low testosterone = lower muscle mass = more muscle loss while on weight loss medication = more rebound weight gain if you ever try to stop taking it (not to mention being a frail old woman).

Testing your testosterone and getting it into an optimal range before using a GLP-1 medication is necessary in my opinion.

Low testosterone in women is more common than you might think.

There are also a list of other things you can do to make sure you achieve long term health as well as weight loss. So you can get lean and light, but also feel strong, capable, free, happy, energetic and full of life.

Eating less than your toddler is NOT going to help you lose weight...if fact you are going to encourage your body to hold on, tooth-and-nail, to every ounce of fat you have.

You've been told its all about calories (and yes they count)...but if you are skipping breakfast in hopes of keeping your calories low...then eating a dry tuna salad for lunch telling yourself you are being 'good'...and then picking on scraps leftover from your kids dinner plate...then you my dear and never going to see your fat melt away for good (and you are probably going to have some battles with binge eating and uncontrollable food cravings).

Small portions and skipping meals could be the reason you are NOT losing weight.

Your body is smart.
Fat is safety.
It doesn't want to let that go if your survival feels threatened.
Not having enough nutrition is a massive threat.

Please listen carefully...
There is absolutely NOTHING you need to do to 'make up' for anything you ate over Christmas.

It's time to stop carrying around this sh*tty conditioning and free yourself from this shameful cycle.

The best thing you can do is keep prioritising yourself...making choices that feel good and make YOU feel good. Treat yourself kindly and quit bullying yourself into trying harder. You dont need more willpower...you need a new approach. One of self-compassion and self-worth.

ASK YOURSELF: What small shift can I make now that makes me feel better?

Maybe it's as simple as drinking a glass of water, munching on some fresh veggies, going for a stroll after dinner, or putting down your phone, and going to bed earlier.

Make choices from a place of kindness, NOT shame and regret.
