We’ve recently welcomed another experienced bookkeeper to the Tiller Bookkeeping team ⭐️

👋 Business owners... are you ready for the new Payday Super rules?

From 1 July 2026, there’s a major change in how superannuation must be paid to employees.

👉 Under the new Payday Super requirements:
• Employers will need to pay super at the same time you pay wages, not quarterly.
• Super contributions must reach the employee’s fund within 7 business days of payday.
• This applies to all pay cycles - weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

For many businesses, this will impact payroll processes, cash flow and compliance planning, so it’s worth starting to prepare now.

It’s hard to believe it has already been five years! I’m so proud of how far things have come and so grateful for the incredible people and local businesses I’ve had the chance to work with along the way.

🚨 Important Payroll Update 🚨
Effective first FULL payrun after 1st July 2025

The ATO has announced key changes:
✔️ Minimum Award Wages will increase by 3.5%
✔️ Superannuation Guarantee will rise to 12%

For businesses already paying above award wages, make sure you review your rates to ensure you’re still compliant.

It’s also important to keep an eye on your cash flow to allow for the increased payroll costs.
