So You Got F*cked Up book launch tomorrow at The Welders Dog Bar (The OG Welders)

UPDATE: There will be Oktoberfest charcuterie style platters available for purchase, and BYO food is also okie doakes.

I dropped in to see Michelle at the Reader's Companion, to say hi and thanks.

She showed me the book looking all resplendent on the shelf. Grab a copy from her, or just pick one up at the launch — I’ll have a stack there.

Been a bit quiet here, but the book hasn’t been. A few fun things on the horizon:

*So You Got F*cked Up is now sitting on the shelves at Bookface Port Macquarie (what a ripper bookshop AND coffee shop!)

*Next week I’ll be on ABC Mid North Coast with Cam Marshall having a yarn about the book, recovery, and whatever else slips out.

*Speaking at the Port Macquarie Private Hospital leaders retreat — taking it back to where a lot of this story unfolded. That's poetic, a real chance to pay back and give some insight from the other side of the bedrail.

*Kicking off the new year with a local author event at Port Macquarie Library. Hope the demographic is sympathetic!

And early Term 4, we’re heading to Armidale for a launch/celebration. Special guest and MC in the pipeline for that one. Think boutique brewery, beer and and Armidale in October or November. That's the best combination since Iceman robbed Maverick of Goose. I'm not angry about that, just disappointed.

Meanwhile the book itself has been doing more travel than me: it’s turned up in remote Western Australia, South Australia, Kingscliff, even Japan. (If you’ve got a copy out in the wild, send me a snap — I love seeing where it ends up.)

It’s fully choice watching this thing roll along. Thanks for sticking with it — more details on each soon.

Publishing a book? Oh, the places you’ll go!

All I had to do was fix a grammar slip and change two photo captions. Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy?

Yeah, it took me six failed attempts.

Turns out “Pete Harris” and “Mr Peter Alexander Harris” are not the same person (at least to Amazon). A rookie mistake that doubles as a solid “Minus Aura” moment.
So now the book wears the full, fancy pants name: “Mr” Peter Alexander Harris —because apparently, I’m the kind of guy who argues with himself online.
On the bright side, if you got one of the OG “Pete Harris” copies, hold onto it. One day it’ll be worth a fortune. *
(*It won’t. Ever.)
Thanks for the support. I’ve had readers as far as South Australia now and continue to get wonderful feedback.

Buckle up!
So You Got F*cked Up is now going to be stocked in three bookshops across three different towns.
Unsuspecting eyes might be caught off guard by a title with a story behind it.
Want it in your local library? Just ask — it’s available to all libraries and bookstores.
Pretty proud to have three stores on board already… and counting.

The first and second print runs have sold out. Third has arrived and is on its way out the door and in the mail.

A couple of quiet goals ticked off this week—handed a copy to a hospital for a patient who I hope will benefit, and saw it land on a shelf I once imagined it sitting on. Thanks Renee. That's a frame worthy shot!

There’s even been interest from a bookstore and a private hospital café who want to stock it.

Chip away long enough at your goals and eventually chunks will fall.

Book launch...Done!
Massive thanks to everyone who came out of the winter weather, grabbed a book, or just pretended they weren't there for the beer.
Launching So You Got F*cked Up in a brewery turned out to be on point. More and more so as the afternoon rolled on.
First print run? Gone. Sold out. You magnificent animals. I've had some amazing feedback so far.
Second batch lands early next week, and a third’s already on the way.
Family and friends travelled far and wide to get there and that was so highly appreciated.
