I want to inspire everyone to never give up on themselves because I know that life does get better. .Too often, people feel afraid to admit that they are struggling with their mental health and some people they are suffering in quiet . I had suffered from mental illness myself, and I still do sometimes . I believe that no one should go through what I have gone through in my life. Can you help by sharing this page and liking it

The Wheel of Brisbane 🎡
This is my most favourite place to visit when I'm in Brisabane, as it is an amazing Ferris Wheel I can access😄 ♿️💛🩷🩵
Gondalas are fully airconditioned and there are two that have wheelchair access- they allow manual/electric wheelchairs.
It can be ridden at day or night with no reservations required, tickets are relatively economical.
A ride takes almost 15 mins and the views take in the spectacular Brisbane city over the River from the beautiful South Bank Parkands.
When accessing with a wheelchair it is done safely via a small ramp.
This is a wonderful accessible attraction the only draw back is you are resticted to one of two sitting positions, reverse in -to view the Brisbane River and city beyond or straight in to view South side Brisbane entertaiment precinct and buildings beyond.
Though I still give it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hervey Bay Library

This is a place I visit most weeks to use their facilities. Here is my review of the accessibility of this library.

There is ample parking available. There are multiple disabled parks in front of the library and in the car park across the road. There is also lots of other parks that have shade. We have never had any issues finding a park or not having enough space. The parking here is fantastic. Only issue is you would get wet if it was raining as it is not undercover.

The entry way is wide with automatic doors. The whole library is single level with no steps, stairs or lifts. This makes it very easy to access any parts of the library. Upon entry is the information desk with workers ready to assist.

There are ample computers for use, we have always been able to access them. Once you have your login set up you can use them for one hour at a time. We often login again after we have timed out. The computers have timers so you know when time is near up. They are very quick and easy to use. There is no specific ‘accessible’ desk computers like at Maryborough. However the desks have ample room.

The toilets are very accessible and large, I didn’t get a photo of the inside however myself and my worker fit in comfortably and plenty of room to turn myself around. The door does not stay open so can be tricky to hold open the door whilst getting in and out. All the toilets are located next to each other.

This library also has lots of other areas to use. There is a specific children’s library. We could not take photos inside due to privacy reasons however it is very large with lots of places to sit, play and read. There is also lots of tables and work stations you can take your own laptops or iPads ect and utilise the desk space. They have some couches and comfy reading or work spaces. There’s even a nice desk with a view which is quite pretty.

The library has ample books! They also have an information screen you can use to locate these books. I personally haven’t needed to use these but they look very user friendly. There is also staff there to assist if needed.

Upon exit they do have an after hours returns spot which can come in handy if you cannot get there during opening hours.

Overall this library has great access and facilities for myself and I enjoy going there often. Comment below if you have been here and what are your thoughts or any ideas for improvements.

Maryborough Public Library is a place I visit often and wanted to share my thoughts on the accessibility.

The entrance has an accessible ramp that is fairly wide and not very steep. There is also a wheelchair lift that fit myself, powerchair and backpack. Overall it is very easy to get in and out of the library.

Inside they have about 4 rows of desks with computers and at the end they have single wide desks with ample space for wheelchairs and a worker to sit beside. You can also use the other computers as there is plenty of space between them. Each computer has a screen, keyboard and headphones. You have a specific login to use and there is a 1 hour timer. I have not found many issues with these computers/mouses.

Down stairs there is a narrow single male and female toilet. In order to use the accessible toilet/parent changing toilet you have to use the lift to go upstairs. This can cause challenges for some as the lift is not overly wide. The downstairs toilets are not wide enough for most wheel chairs to fit. Once upstairs the accessible toilets are very large and clean. There is also a stair case for those who can use stairs. (not me😂).

Up stairs the library has a lot of books and DVD's to loan. I personally have not loaned any as I mainly use the computers at the library. You also have printing available and staff at the desk to provide any help upstairs or downstairs.

Out the front of the library there is very limited parking. There is one disabled park in front, however this often not available. I normally park down the road at a car park or have to find a park nearby and walk. This may cause some issues for some.

Overall, I enjoy the Maryborough Library, it is very accessible and meets my needs. I do recommend this library. Below are photos of me enjoying the space and to give you a visual.
Does anyone else use the Maryborough Library?

All Abilities Park Hervey Bay.
This is a park that I visit frequently and would like to make some comments about the accessibility.

Positives:
- Lots of Accessible parking.
- Picinic tables are available with cut out sides for wheelchairs to sit at the table.
- Lots of shade cover for when it is hot.
- There are accessible toilets open to the public, there is also another one with a hoist and shower however this requires a special lock to open.
- The swing has good safety with the tie downs and a seat belt.
- The ground is smooth and easy to move around on.

Negatives:
- Most of the equipment requires manual chairs only- powerchairs are too heavy for majority of them to be used safely.
- The Sea Saw doesn't have tie downs so good breaks are essential!
- The turn table is good in a manual chair however it won't turn with a powerchair as it is too heavy.
- Manual chairs only for the trampoline, as seen in the photo I got stuck with my powerchair.
- Most of the park is under shade covers which are not great for the wet weather.
- The swing is not ideal for powerchairs, or long manual chairs as the platform is quite short in width and length. Any bags on the back of chairs may need to be removed.

Overall, the park is quite good and I enjoy going there. It is nice and close to the beach, however you can't see too much of it.

If you have visited this park before, please feel free to add some comments or advice below for others.
