Have you ever wondered about those little bumpy ridges on your child’s front teeth? 🦷✨

Those wavy lines are called 'mamelons,' a natural part of newly erupted teeth! They aid the tooth in breaking through the gums. Mamelons are normal on the front 4 incisors on the top and bottom teeth, forming during tooth development.

No need to worry! As your child uses their front teeth for biting and chewing, these mamelons naturally wear down over time. However, if they persist, it might signal an incorrect bite (malocclusion). Just a heads up for your next dental visit!

We had our 2 wonderful dentists Dr Rochelle and Dr Evelyn come in for their check-ups and cleans before their babies are due. It was so wonderful to see them this week, we sure do miss having them around. These soon to be mummas know the importance of maintaining excellent oral hygiene during pregnancy.

Did you know that when you're pregnant, your hormone levels rise? This can cause your gums to swell and bleed. If left untreated, this irritation can lead to gum disease, which has been linked to pre-term and low birth weight babies. * That's why it's so important to keep your teeth clean and your gums healthy while you're pregnant.

Love seeing Dr Rochelle & Dr Evelyn? Don't worry they'll be back to take care of their wonderful patients after their maternity leave 💗. This is Dr Evelyn's first baby, and this is Dr Rochelle's 2nd baby.
