The Hobart Wonderings logo was designed to symbolise a space that is psychologically safe, a place to feel like you belong when you walk in and a place where you can come to grow, branch out and expand to your potential.

We love the way the branch reaches out while still being connected, just like what our children and young people need to do to step into the world outside of their family.

Screens are part of our teens’ world—and so is connection, purpose, and balance. 💬📱💡

Instead of head to head battles, we encourage families to build boundaries together. Co-create tech agreements, talk about digital wellbeing, and lead with curiosity over control.

Because it’s not just what they’re doing on screens, it’s why, how, and how they feel afterwards that matters. ❤️

Maybe the upcoming Easter break and school holidays is a good time to find an opportunity to invite a conversation with your teen to re negotiate.

If you feel like you need support for this enquire today about the possibility of a single session, intervention for a deep dive into finding a solution for your family.

School holidays are nearly here AGAIN! With an Easter break before we get there- we have a number of days at home with children.

We know there's often a welcome break from routine, lunch boxes, school emails and phone calls, BUT we also know that for many families school holidays are a huge challenge. The absence of the structure and routine and parents not getting a break often managing work demands around their children's needs.

We will be posting some activity ideas for young children on holidays at home over the next few weeks.

Starting with getting outside and experience the change in season!

Autumn in Tasmania brings a palette of vibrant colours. It's a perfect time to engage children in outdoor activities that stimulate their senses and imagination.

Tuck into a leaf pile and tell a story under the trees… 🌳📖
Children love story telling and learn and develop so much through the expression of words and body language to extend new ideas and a warm, fuzzy connection with the story teller. Maybe you could discover a new park or area and pack a picnic. Change the environment, get into nature, its one of best regulation tools.

Parenting Through a New Diagnosis: Finding Your Path Forward

Receiving a diagnosis for your child can feel overwhelming, bringing a mix of emotions some of which may be uncertainty, worry, and even relief. But here’s the truth: there’s no “right” way to feel, and no manual for navigating this journey. 💛

What matters most is focusing on what’s ahead:
✔️ Building a supportive environment for your child to thrive.
✔️ Strengthening your connection as a family.
✔️ Finding the right tools and strategies to adapt and grow together.

Parenting a child with a new diagnosis is not about having all the answers, it’s about taking it one step at a time, with compassion for yourself and your child. 🌟

Our NEW online course for parents will guide you. It is just over one hour, affordable and full to the brim with 20+ years of experience talking.

Why I created a course for parents.

For more than 20 years, I’ve worked with families whose children have received a diagnosis.
And there’s a moment I’ve witnessed time and time again.
A parent sits in front of me, holding a report in their hands.
Sometimes, they feel relieved to finally have answers.
Often, they feel overwhelmed.
Most of the time, they feel both.
A diagnosis can bring clarity, but it also brings questions. So many questions.

What does this mean for my child?
What should we do next?
Who should we listen to?
Are we doing the right things?

Parents want to do the very best for their child. But the reality is that the moment families need the most support is often the moment when the system has the least capacity to provide it.

Waitlists are long.
Appointments are spaced weeks or months apart.
And families are left trying to make big decisions with very little guidance.

Over the years, I’ve found this incredibly frustrating.
Not because families aren’t trying - they absolutely are.
But because they often don’t get access to the knowledge and perspective they need early enough.

Parents need space to process what the diagnosis means.
They need help sorting through the overwhelming number of opinions, therapies, and recommendations that suddenly appear.
And most importantly, they need reassurance that they can navigate this well.

That’s why I created the course- After the Diagnosis.
I wanted to create something that could help families sooner - not months down the track when an appointment finally becomes available.

This course brings together more than 20 years of experience working with children and families and distills it into something practical, supportive, and easy to access.

Inside the course, you’ll learn how to:
Navigate this new chapter with clarity, confidence, and compassion.

Feel more empowered about the next steps for your child and your family.

Access insights from two decades of clinical experience in just over an hour.

For parents who like to reflect and process their thoughts, the course also includes a thought journal to help guide you along the way.

Because receiving a diagnosis of any kind for your child may change the path you expected - but it doesn’t mean you have to walk that path feeling lost or alone.

My hope is that this course offers families something they so often need at this time.
