When clients question cost, it can feel personal.
Often, it isn’t.
As business owners, money conversations can trigger all sorts of stories.
▪️That we’re not being valued.
▪️That our work isn’t understood.
▪️That we need to justify ourselves.
What I’ve learned over time is that these questions are often coming from uncertainty, not disrespect. People are usually trying to understand what they’re committing to and whether they can manage it.
That’s why it helps to be gentle with the person doing the questioning. Money can be stressful, and those conversations can feel hard to bring up on their side too.
When you slow things down and aim for clarity and a genuine win-win, the conversation usually softens.
Not because money stops mattering, but because both people feel heard and in control.
Money conversations don’t need to be awkward.
They just need understanding on both sides. 💛
