We’ve always been the “scrimp and save” type, budgeting, watching every dollar and saying “not today” more times than I can count.

Because when you’ve got a big family, every little expense adds up.

Today, we were at the LEGO shop at Dreamworld, and Mr almost 3 spotted a garbage truck. Not just any garbage truck. THE garbage truck 🚚

$60 😳

Normally, I would’ve said no straight away.
But today, I paused and thought…

'Honestly, it’s just money'.

Not because we’re reckless.
But because we’ve spent the last few years working really hard building our doTERRA business alongside family life.

For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel that tight knot in my stomach about spending it.

So I said “Stuff it… let’s get the garbage truck.”

His excitement? Worth every cent.

Financial freedom doesn’t always look like luxury holidays or fancy cars. Sometimes, it looks like a $60 LEGO garbage truck and a little boy who feels like he just won the lottery.

We packed the car.
Snacks everywhere.
Kids buzzing with holiday energy.

We arrived at the park, unpacked, settled in…
and then I did something that doesn’t always make sense to people.

I left.

Not because I love my family any less.
Not because work comes first.

But because I’m building something that matters.

I love slow mornings.
I love being present.
I love this life we’re creating.

And I also love building something of my own.
Growing. Leading. Sitting in rooms that stretch me.

Walking into that space and being welcomed with open arms - by women who believe bigger, think bigger, and cheer louder - reminded me why I started.

This isn’t just oils.
It’s not just income.

It’s community.
It’s purpose.
It’s showing my kids that you can build something meaningful and still come home.

And the best part?

I get to have both.

So im sitting here re-packing my handbag for Leadership this weekend and I'm having a little giggle to myself ...

Nothing says "I hate my kids touching absolutely everything, every time I leave the house" like half a dozen fidgets 😂🫠🤪

Also, let's take a moment for the "noone is getting sick before I go away" section.
I'm all for building natural immunity, but my asthma has been giving me grief the last few weeks, and the last thing I want is other people's germs attacking me whilst I'm down. This Mumma is already running on fumes!

Having a sick little one is hard.

We've been so lucky that at 5.5months old, this is the first time little miss has actually been unwell.

She is okay through the day, but when nighttime comes, so does the cough. This cough would have sent old me (2013, 1st time parent me) into a bit of a panic, riffling through a medicine cabinet looking for something to "fix" it, worrying if I should take her somewhere to be assessed.

Last night, we made a few minor adjustments, reached for the oils, and got a fairly typical amount of sleep.

We're following this up with our typical immune support oils today and taking it easy so our bodies can do what they need to do.

I wish every parent out there had the confidence to reach for something natural first, and keep the heavier stuff for if/when it's truly needed.
