Things may have appeared quiet here at Inspired Carers, but as you will see by our announcement, we have been very busy.

All Inspired Carers programs will commence again in February 2024. Our contact details are the same, but please allow for a few potential technical issues as we re-locate.

We want to take this opportunity to encourage you and your family to get involved and volunteer for any small groups which hold an interest for you. We know how busy life is for families, remember that volunteering is a great way to connect with others, learn new things, and help our community. Without volunteers, many more small groups may be lost.

The staff, volunteers, and Committee of Management members of The Resource, Information, Support & Education Centre Inc. - RISE Centre have built and provided our community a valuable service which many families have benefited from for decades. Inspired Carers hopes to build upon this legacy.

Feeling a bit isolated at home? Head down to playgroup, Kristy and Kim are absolutely wonderful and will help you feel welcomed and at ease as soon as you walk in☺️
PlayConnect is a playgroup open to all children with disabilities and or developmental concerns aged 0-6 years. It’s on Tuesdays 9:30-11:30am at Gowrie Street Preschool

Book Week 2023!📚
Do you know of a child who wants to take part in book week, but getting dressed up and parading causes them too much anxiety, a great option is for them to take along our adorable, little, very hungry caterpillar 🐛 and accompanying small book. Still taking part and being included in the fun, without the stress and anxiety of dressing up, which some children may experience during this time.☺️. Only $2 to hire for the month. (Simply turn inside out to reveal butterfly) 🦋

Children and teenagers of all ages love these!!

⭐️Sensory bins can be extremely beneficial for autistic children, These bins provide sensory input as a calming activity, and they also provide many opportunities for learning, sorting and exploring. They are great for practicing fine motor skills, exploring new textures,imaginative play, and providing opportunities for dialogue. ⭐️
(Only $2 to hire per month for members, membership is only $25 per year.

We have several to choose from here at RISE.

⭐️The weighted wraps provide pleasant body relaxation around the neck & shoulders, and have a beneficial effect on posture as well.
⭐️Assist with sensory regulation to help focus on a task.
⭐️Provides comforting deep pressure.
⭐️Provides Proprioceptive input.
⭐️Particularly helpful for Autistic individuals and or those with ADHD, ADD, and SPD.
⭐️Many autistic people seek proprioceptive input in order to regulate their emotional and behavioural responses to sensory stimulation.
