WELCOME to another year of Dog Tales.

We've had a couple of changes over the break. Those who it affects already know the prices have gone up. All Bowen Therapy has increased by $5 and deshedding has clear breed pricing. I was finding that there was too many dogo's considerably floofier than others in their price point. Samoyeds need to pay for my hearing loss (kidding) they have a slight price rise. And we have a Newfoundland joining us. Clipping never really had clear pricing. So, I've sorted that out and found that groodles come in 2 sizes, regular and supersize. You can guess where I'm going with this...
Anyway, everything has gone up as we all know. Power, water, products, rent blah, blah, blah ๐Ÿ˜‘
We are struggling with the heat in the grooming room after 2pm. So I'll be more rigid about arvo appointments. I have found that the 8am's have been working well. Remember, I don't take lunch or snack breaks. I run the appointments back to back, so always be mindful of other dogs coming and going at the same time as you.
Lola turns 10 tomorrow and has taken a paw back as CEO and is now head of the Husky complaints department. All a-woo's are to be directed straight to her. ๐Ÿ•
Ari is working hard on his naughtiness at some of the dogs pick ups. He apologises for his sudden out bursts of excitement. But he has big emotions.
And finally, Welcome Sam to the team. Sam arrived from Melbourne on Tuesday and is ๐Ÿคžso far fitting in well.
I'd been trying to adopt a 12 month female BC, however that didn't work out. Luckily Hear No Evil who knew I was keen to adopt a buddy for Ari, with Lola's retirement, hed love someone to share his bigger adventures with. Contacted me as soon as Sam, formally Squid, was surrendered. He's only a baby at 4 months old and starting puppy school tomorrow. And YES.. he is Deaf! I'm sure hes going to lap up all the attention from you hoomans.
Remember when recommending Dog Tales, we specialise in double-coated desheds. I'm still clipping, just not taking in anymore small dogos. There's not may of us who groom big dogs, so I need to keep my books open for them. There are plenty of newer groomers who will gladly take on your mini's.

That's a rap for another year. Dog Tales is CLOSED until 6th Jan.
We've had a full on year as we joined forces with NQAR and rehomed our first foster Mr Lucky (pic below) to a DT's client. We cared for and rehabed Mr Coco post CCL surgery as his hoomans were displaced due to the housing crisis. They have since relocated to Melbourne. And Coco is living his best life.
Dog Tales closed its books this year to any more small clip dogs. The little dogos who enjoy our haircuts will continue moving forward, just not taking om anymore. Whereas here we love floof, by floof, I mean double-coats here. We love big dog floofs.
Also, everything has gone up in price, blah! so unfortunately I've had to put mine up too. Not all prices are increasing, bowen therapy and the extra long, thick or large floofers for their breed. I hopefully I've spoken to everyone involved.

DOG TALES DOGGY DAY SPA will be CLOSED 16th -24th October for a much needed holiday.
We're currently fully booked until mid November and in the process of booking everyone's Christmas Pamper Sessions. Make sure that your pups have theirs locked in for the remainder of the year.
Remember... unfortunately we're closed to small dog clips, in order to concentrate on what I do best, deshedding. There are plenty of other groomers who only take small dogs, where big dogs are my jam, especially Border Collies, GSD'S, Huskys, Aussie Sheppards, Goldens, Labs, etc.

Jimmy took the leap of faith and had his long locks chopped. It's still the longest clip I can do, to keep his lush waves. Jimmy comes in ever 4 weeks for a blow wave. If you want to keep your oodles long and sexy, you gotta do the work, brushing constantly or have your dog get pampered regularly enough by a groomer to keep the knots at bay. Plus, most of these dogs, like groodles still shed. So that undercoat has to come out. But doesn't Jimmy look dashing.

Its been a sad few weeks as Dog Tales as we have lost some beautiful clients. Firstly my chocolate girls, Sybil has been attending her 4 weekly Arfo defloof appointment since grooming started. I've watched Sybil's Mummy hooman get married and start a family over her time here. She has also made a brilliant support puppa, helping other scardy pups during their baths.
Miss Molly has been receiving Bowen Therapy for over 4 years now. She also transitioned across to grooming and brought her crazy brother Hamish with her. I've spent many hours chatting and getting to know to their hoomans.
Miss Nahla was my first paid client. She opened my eyes to the magic of Bowen Therapy. I left after her first session feeling deflated until the next day, I received a video of her rolling over for the first time in over a year. The vet and chiropractor couldn't fix her, but Bowen did. Nahla has tripped around Australia and has since moved to the Tablelands. What any awesome place to finally rest.
Mr Cooper, what can I say about this handsome floofball. He was very intune with is ouchies. Originally I was treating Coop and his Bro, Trigger until he passed and then AFP retiree, Xando moved in.
All these dogs have been a part of the Dog Tales family for the longest times. My heart is saddened by their passing, however I know that all the pups I've ever helped in some way will be waiting for me on the other side of the rainbow bridge when it's my time. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค

Today I groomed and performed Bowen Therapy on Mr Max for the last time. 3 years ago Marlin Coast Vet referred Max to Dog Tales to help with his skin issues. Knowing that I specialise in huskys other double-coated dogos. Its been an absolute pleasure spoiling and on occasion puppy sitting Max and his kitty bro, Yoda. Max and Sash, you will be missed here at Dog Tales. Have a safe and fun family drive down south.
