Why isn't anyone asking how the police are being given so much power over citizens. These designated areas allow them to stop and search people without a reason. Since when has this been acceptable? So they can choose an area and if you are in it you are guilty?

It is very interesting that they are starting with monitoring, surveillance and data collection before any of the other important items to be addressed. You know like housing, health services and the things they should focus on like rates, roads and rubbish collection.

Wyndham is in the third year of smart city implementation and is reaching the crucial ‘embedding’ phase of organisational integration.

This phase will further build smart city capacity across the organisation and the city and focus on:
 Smart enablement of the extensive capital program.

Parental consent

There may be circumstances in which students wish or need to undertake gender transition without the consent of their parent/s (or carer/s), and/or without consulting medical practitioners. WHAT???

If no agreement can be reached between the student and the parent/s regarding the student’s gender identity, or if the parent/s will not consent to the contents of a student support plan, it will be necessary for the school to consider whether the student is a mature minor.

If a student is considered a mature minor they can make decisions for themselves without parental consent and should be affirmed in their gender identity at school without a family representative/carer participating in formulating the school management plan.

Department policy addresses situations in which students, though under the age of 18 years, may be sufficiently mature to make their own decisions, (refer to Mature Minors and Decision Making).

If a parent does not automatically affirm a child's stance, they will be removed from the decision making process.

In 2010, the Victorian Government established Safe Schools to ensure schools are safe places for all students, including le***an, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, q***r and questioning (LGBTIQ+) students, and are free of discrimination.

It was born out of the need identified by school communities, parents and teachers for greater support for LGBTIQ+ students, who are at higher risks of bullying and su***de and to ensure that schools create safe and inclusive environments.

A key part of the program is to provide professional development and training for secondary school teachers so that they are equipped to support LGBTIQ+ students.

The Safe Schools program is managed and delivered directly by the Department of Education and Training.

Myth: The Safe Schools program encourages students to question or change their gender or sexuality.
Fact: Nothing about the Safe Schools program encourages students to question or change their gender or sexuality.

This is not a real fact.

Introducing concepts to students who are already confused and questioning their existence is a way to encourage students to be something they may not be. Students should be free to discover and reject these new ideas. This program does not allow this to happen. The school affirms only one course of action. Even going so far as to exclude parents from the decision making process. Allowing minors to make life altering decisions that are not reversible. How far will the State let this go? Parental rights are being undermined.

Victorian Health Sharing Legislation Amendment

The Andrews government has returned a bill to parliament unamended that was withdrawn in the previous term after coming under serious fire for a number of reasons.

Foremost among those reasons is the lack of an opt out provision similar to that found in federal medical information database legislation. This lack of respect for patient autonomy, coupled with the fact that patients would be prevented from learning who was accessing their information and for what purpose due to an exemption for FOI requests for the database, has led to David Limbrick proposing an amendment to the Bill.

In support of this amendment, David is sponsoring an e-petition calling for the legislation to be amended. Under Victorian parliamentary standing orders, if an e-petition reaches 10,000 signatures it must be tabled for debate/consideration in parliament, as well as get a reply from the Minister.

This threshold has never been reached since the e-petition mechanism was introduced in Vic, and after the petition went live around 5pm yesterday it is already over half way there. You must be a Victorian with a Vic address to sign, but if you haven't yet signed the petition please do so and share it as widely as you can while encouraging others to do the same!

The LIV is calling on the government to amend the Health Legislation Amendment (Information Sharing) Bill to allow for patients to opt out and to give patients FOI access so they can know who has accessed their information under the scheme.

We should not have to be fighting for privacy.

Under the Renewable Energy (Jobs and Investment) Act 2017 (REJI Act) -

Victoria legislated renewable energy targets of 25 per cent by 2020, 40 per cent by 2025 and 50 per cent by 2030.

Section 8 of the REJI Act requires the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change (the Minister) to
report to the Parliament for each financial year on:
• the progress made towards meeting the renewable energy targets;
• investment and employment in Victoria in relation to renewable electricity generation; and
• the performance of schemes to achieve targets under the REJI Act that promote the generation of electricity by large scale facilities that utilise renewable energy sources or convert renewable energy sources into electricity.

Did the government ever ask you if this was what you wanted? To profit from our resources and sell them overseas and charge us extra for these things that are already here. Why did they choose electricity, wind turbines and solar farms? Technology which is sorely lacking. All the while selling our precious resources to countries who are still opening new coal stations.

They sell you the lie that it is good for our environment. All the while knowing it will cost more, damage the environment and not be reliable. They know the public does not know enough about it to make an informed decision. It is easier to sell them on the idea that they are saving the planet. That way if you ask questions about it they can call you names to shut you down. All the while pushing us into poverty and darkness. The black outs will come. Jobs will be lost. It will not affect the politicians. But it will make us poorer.

When poverty is rife, and the people are starving, they are much easier to control. Governments know that cheap energy is what makes our society richer. That is why they are hell bent on destroying it and controlling the new system. When you are making good money and can afford everything, you do not need them. The current government believes in a socialist agenda. And that is about control. You have to ask yourself, out of all the things that are changing right now in your life, who is going to benefit the most? The people who will be poorer and be tightly controlled by the state or those in power.

You are being sold a lie - like a gift - the wrapping is nice and shiny - this is for your health, your safety and security. This is the nanny state, and we will look after you. But inside the wrapper you are actually going to get a harsh dose of reality. No money, no rights, no privacy and no say.

Eventually, as in other countries failing right now (think Sri Lanka), they will stop the pretence of asking you. The reason you feel something is not right is because you are being pushed in a direction that those in power want. I am sure you are not asking for poverty, food shortages and blackouts.

Dan Andrews just announced they will be setting up a new government owned power company. They are not even hiding their socialist agenda now.
We should be screaming from the roof tops to stop this madness. Soon it will be too late to stop it.

Health Practitioner Regulation National Law and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2022

Queensland is the host jurisdiction for the National Law. This new bill was introduced in May 2022. This will be decided on next week in Parliament and it will be carried over to all the states after that.

One of the main reforms will be to amend the Guiding Principles from just the protection of the public to now be:
3A Guiding principles

(1 The main guiding principle of the national registration and accreditation scheme is that the following are paramount—
(a) protection of the public;
(b) public confidence in the safety of services provided by registered health practitioners and students.

The doctors now have to protect the public confidence. They will be made to do what the government believes is right. This will remove the ability for scientific debate and their ability to adequately treat their patients in the future.

It seems like a conflict of interest to me. Which one comes first if there is an issue? What if the safety of the service is in question?
This is particularly disturbing.

Meat Industry Amendment (Rabbit Farms) Bill 2021

A Bill for an Act to amend the Meat Industry Act 1993 in relation to
rabbits and rabbit farming and for other purposes.

The purpose of this Act is to amend the Meat Industry Act 1993—
(a) to provide that rabbits are not consumable animals; and
(b) to prevent certain exemptions from the prohibition on sale of meat for human consumption; and
(c) to provide transitional arrangements for certain licensed meat processing facilities.

I looked up the Meat Industry Act 1993 for the meaning of a consumable animal:

consumable animal means—
(a) poultry; or
(b) game; or
(c) an animal from any of the following families, if not living in a wild state—
(i) cattle; or
(ii) sheep; or
(iii) goat; or
(iv) pig; or
(v) horse; or
(vi) donkey; or
(vii) ostrich; or
(viii) deer; or
(d) an animal prescribed to be a consumable animal

Real question here - What is the reason for this?

Monitoring of Places of Detention by the United Nations Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture (OPCAT) Bill 2022

Why do we need to allow the UN into facilities here in Victoria?

and specifically below:

Section 4
n any place (other than a private residence) at
which a person is detained under any of the following—

(i) a public health order made under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008;
ii) a pandemic order made under the Public Health and Wellbeing
Act 2008;

(iii) a direction given in the exercise of a pandemic management power under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008;

(iv) emergency powers within the meaning of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008;

(o) any vehicle primarily used or operated for the purpose of transporting a detainee;

(p) a prescribed place other than a private residence.

This has got to be about the Quarantine Centres and the next Pandemic to be announced.

Many questions and no answers as to why this is needed now.

If you already believe that the government impacts your home and land enough, take a look at the new proposed changes.

1. Nature strip maintenance - $200 penalty for not cutting your nature strip to the required height.

2. Tree removal on private land - You will need a permit to remove or significantly prune a tree on your property with a diameter greater than 35cm. It will be $400 for the permit and $400_$500 for the arborist report and a penalty of $1000 if you do not comply.

3. Food trucks on private land - They want to change section 150 in the current community amenity local law to include food trucks to now require a permit under the planning scheme and not allow new ones. Penalty $200

It is getting to the point where you will not be able to do anything on your own land without a council permit.
