Camp Quality in Airlie Beach on the weekend saw Dylan getting to be his usual daredevil cheeky self. 💛💛

12months to the day since Dylan & I first arrived in Brisbane for a journey you are never really prepared for….

Dylan still to this day has me in awe of his strength, resilience and positivity. He bounced into 5c for every treatment and checkup day with his wicked cheekiness and love for the staff that looked after him.

This visit was no different, Dylan was both excited & nervous, he loves going to visit his QCH family & best friend. But he did not look forward to the scan or ‘needles’ that go with every visit.

Today’s saw Dylan getting another all clear! (in his words “Dr Natacha is very happy!”) the only changes were his extra cm’s, kg’s & hair that made all the staff very happy. He hugged his favourite people & we both cried some tears after reflecting on our past 12 months and how incredibly grateful we are for the people who have loved us through this journey!!

We will be back in another 3 months to go through all the checks again, but we know our team has us covered, so until then our prayers and thoughts are with the little fighters still going through their treatment plans “you have got this!” 💛💛💛💛

What a wonderful day!! Our little boys celebrated their 4th birthday!! Birthdays are so incredibly special in so many ways in our house and even more so now for our little hero!! 💛💛

To say I am proud of these two, would be an understatement! After being away in Brisbane for almost 8 months, they started kindy and loved every minute. No tears on the first day, just so happy to be reunited with their best mate Tommy! Can’t wait to see what they achieve in 2024 🩵🩵

Dylan is booked into have his port removed in a couple of weeks & is smashing goals, his little fluff of hair and chubby cheeks are slowly returning!! 💛💛

The bell 🔔

It means so much, it marks the end of Dylan’s cancer journey. But this journey has been filled with so many blessings. The bell may signal the end of treatment for Dylan but honestly this journey has brought so many beautiful memories, people & love into our lives.

Our friends who are now family, you are all so incredibly inspiring. We could never thank you enough for your support, courage and love. We will continue to be your biggest cheer squad for your journeys.

To the staff at 5C who will now and forever be in our hearts, especially our incredible Oncologist Dr Natacha and her team, our very special Social Worker Edie and our wonderful Therapist Emma. The admiration and gratitude we share for you all can never be put into words.

Dylan will have 3 monthly scans for surveillance for several years and will also need to undergo a small surgery to have his port removed, once his levels stabilise after this round of treatment.

But today marks the end of intensive treatment, weekly hospital visits and being away from home. The future looks so incredibly different, it will be full of big celebrations and amazing milestones.

Our little Optimus Prime had his 2nd last round of Captain Chemo at Townsville Hospital today.

Dylan is so incredibly brave and resilient, smashing another day with no whinging or tantrums, but instead played balls with Phil and did drawing with Laura. The connection he has made with the teams around him will stay with him for life and are so incredibly important to the success of his treatment plan.

Next step is to head back to Brisbane for his final round of Chemo & ring the bell. 🔔 Bring on the 12th December ✈️

And that’s a wrap on the 5 day intensive treatments!!!

So happy to report that Dylan has finished all of his 5 day intensive treatments, he is such a brave little warrior and now has only 3 rounds of chemo left…

We are also happy to report that “we are coming home!” The green light has been given for Dylan to have some of his chemo in Townsville before we head back to Brisbane in December for his final round and checkin with his favorite Dr Natacha for maintenance planning.

We got to start our last day catching up with Morgan and Linc for breakfast and ended with a visit with his bestie “Kenzie” we are so incredibly blessed to have the most wonderful friends who have become family on this journey!

What a day! We got to celebrate Dylan ringing the bell to sign off from Radiation ☢️

This round has been tuff on Dylan, it’s been tuff for all of us to see it takes its toll on our little hero.

Up until recently Dylan would bounce in and out of his chemo treatments all whilst playing and giggling with the oncology nurses!

Not this time, most days are filled with him sleeping or being sick. It’s breaking my heart 💔 to think he has another day of chemo tomorrow and then 2 weeks of radiation ☢️ is a scary thought!

Today is the first day of 3 weeks of hospital visits nearly everyday for our little fighter. Knowing we are going to be very busy keeping safe (and avoiding crowds) we headed to the Host Cup Grand Final on Sunday afternoon. The boys got to meet League greats, high five the Burleigh Bear and watch Uncle Sam play.

The joy football brings to Dylan is undeniable!
